There is just one week left! come to think of it, i cant decide whether to be happy or to be sad. On one side, i am pretty much sick of this studying. zzz...i feel like slacking! (even though i cant possible do that and if i do so, it would be the worst decision of my life) on the other hand, i really want to attend school so that i cant see all of my friends! :D soon, we will walk different paths and it would be seldom that we cross paths, let alone walk the same path. (unless we fail altogether and sign up as cleaners)

definitely, i would be keen to come back to Pionner JC. It has been such a memorable journey all this while! all those lesson times..all those games that we had, going through thick and thin and snagging up those medals :) and of course i wont forget those r

M4 to HK416 modelling

wellll no-so-recently, i ended my prelims! it was pretty hellish...but im glad its over :) now there is A levels T.T but anyway! i decided to take one day off, to really just slack! no work, no studies, no touching of notes, just a nice long break. I needed a recharge. Eating batteries didnt work~neither did sleep, nor coffee. Gaming got me more stressed up instead as a began to 'QQ' over laggers in the game. so, i decided to do some plastic modelling!
there were 3 choices:
1. Do a gundam model
2. Macross model
3. A replica gun

Options 1 and 2 Takes FOREVER to complete! i went ahead with option 3 in the end as both 1 and 2 were just not feasible for now. for a few reasons. lack of cash, lack of time. Both of the first two options required LOTS of time as they required really good precision. this isnt something that i have to spare. plus all the different paints that will cost me a bomb. each paint, excluding the thinner that is needed to mix with it, is about $7-8 for a small bottle. a replica gun just needs spray paint. a huge spray paint for acrylics barely costs $6. and a replica gun has way less colour variants to buy! and it dries a lot faster! i dont use airbrush for models, rather, i prefer brushes. the bristle way~ so cost wise, i went ahead with option 3. both gundam and macross models will eat up close to one week of my time, if i want to do a really perfected model with all details as i tend to melt different parts together, creating a unique model. so...due to time constraints, i did a gun replica.

lemme show ya the steps that i did to make a HK416! actually, i wanted to just do a simple m4. however, the hk416 remains as my favourite gun! so...i decided to give it some minor tweaks. i shall go step by step and bring you through what i did. :)

First up was removing those toy-ish red panels :) i bought a toy m4 alright! you know like those really kiddy ones that have vibrations and lights and sounds~ the one that i bought is very accurate, from black tactical. its at Funan IT Mall btw.

The next thing that i did was to cut off all those sickening wires! i wanted to have just 1 lightbulb for the gun, keep the vibrations, throw out the sounds. ended up, i think i cut the wrong wire somewhere..haha! epic fail! now there is no light, no vibration, no sound. so i threw out everything and put it in this recycling bin. might be of some use to me in the future.

Here is the cutting. What pissed me off was that i lost my saw! like whatthehell! of all things the saw has to go missing?! so i resorted to using a plastic cutter to cut off those m4 'iron sights' at the front. Its the usual triangle thing in front of the gun. cant miss it. i chopped it off, and modelled it after a HK416 barrel.

it is WAYYY better to use this than a penknife. even my best penknife is blunt compared to this marking knife. nothing beats the sharpness of this. but still, be extra careful :) i stabbed all the way into my finger before with this. no kidding, not fun!

In order to make the gun look more realistic, i placed a 'barrel' inside. i used PETG tubing to do it, it wasnt that cheap but the barrel size is about there :) pretty accurate. Accuracy to the actual gun cannot be foregone in such a project.Whats a replica without accuracy aye?

speaking of which, its time for me to introduce to you the wall putty! its a semi-liquid, plasticine like substance to fill up gaps in walls, (i just used it to repair my kitchen wall lolol) Its heavy! and easy to apply and clean off, so i use it as weights :)

toy guns are very light! reason being they are for kids, and made of plastic, hollow in the insides. Thats where the putty goes :)

thats how its like when i fill it up with putty! this is the most sickening process. not only is it messy, i have to keep ensuring that i shove in as much as possible. Its thick, paste-like, so air trapped inside slabs of this is a pain in the ass. oops thats my foot.

i estimated the weight of the original toy gun to be about 0.5kg. extremely light. weight to hit, 2.950kg. long way to go!

as such, even those picatinny rails are not left out, everything is filled with wall putty. It also helps to strengthen the barrel area, because there is no wall putty put there, the weight of the gun can cause really bad strains on the plastic there~causing it to break more easily. so since some of the rails go around the front grip, it helps to provide some sturdiness to the weakest part of the gun. (even the butt is filled with putty) every part of the gun is filled until it sounds solid!

all thanks to my stupidity and lack of time, i had to use this method to keep the 'barrel' inside from rolling about xD notice all the putty eh? thats what happens when you squeeze the frames together and screw em back. the putty is filled into the screw holes too, causing the screws to be glued down when the putty is dry.

ah here is a clearer shot. now, is the messiest part :) getting rid of those excess putty. By now, the putty would have dried, since they are all small bits sticking out. so, i use a screwdriver and scratch off everything! its really fast and easy, big mess :)

oh yeah thats the screw holes thing. my fingers from here on became blackish as i have already started painting on some parts! wanted to save as much time as possible. :)

voila! now its done! oh yeah i guess i didnt add in one part..its the one where i used the brush to brush away all the fragments of the putty, because when you scratch it all off, its like powder? sticks a lil to the replica, so i had to brush em all off. i brushed the entire gun so that later the paint will stick on better. you wont want parts of the paint falling off later on. when you paint over the powder, what happens is in future when the powder falls off, you get some weird polka dot rubbish. moreover, paint is more easily scratched off and the body of the gun becomes uneven. that aint good. now, its all ready to be painted!

before jumping straight into it, masking tape the parts that are going to be of a different colour. brown/metallic black/matt black.

After a whole big load of spraying several coats...this is what you get!

i painted the metallic black and brown parts. Metallic black for all metalic part of the gun. eg: barrel, mag... brown is for front grip and the usual trigger grip as well as butt.

peel the masking tape off and do the opposite! cover the painted areas, then spray the matt black :)

i use masking tape because it is big and it provides just enough adhesion to the painted areas. problem with lousy tapes or transparent scotch tapes is that they leave a sticky mark on the painted areas. once, i used such strong tape that it ripped off the paint! so my advice, stick to masking tape. or if you have the budget, use painter's tape. its a blue in colour tape btw. overkill much.

tadaaaa!! thats how its like after all the coats have been done, including the lacquer coating to protect the paint :) i chose and was adviced to use matt lacquer instead as the colour comes out wayyyy better! dont buy glossy lacquer! and DONT touch the paint job until the lacquer is dry, if not you will smudge the paint too! end up you have to repaint. thats what happened to my previous replica. itchy hand much~

now on to the weathering effect! i did this through the dry brushing technique, all the stuff that are used are shown in the photo below. thats all you need.

dont know how to do it, youtube weathering, modelling. without the modelling keyword, youtube gives you the literal geographical weathering instead :)

i tried out 2 paints. left one is a blue-based paint for pottery, bought from Arts Friend. Right side is the one from Mr hobby, for gundam models, black-based. mix both thoroughly SEPARATELY, let the silver spread out. i think both were oil based..i think.

let me show you the different effect that both has.

this is the porcelain one, pretty bad. especially because of the tinch of blue that it gives. which gun on earth has blue on it?!

this is the Mr hobby paint. WAYYY better eh! now this looks more like it.

my verdict? go with the right.

Finished product! i did more touch ups with the dry brushing. :)

sorta fully functional! of course it doesnt shoot real bullets. not even pellets. although i might try creating a system or adopting one for my future projects. :) up the difficulty of such replicas! wohoo!

this is a close up of the laser mounted on the underneath of the barrel, i covered 3 of the front railings with the armadillo rail panel, they came in desert colour. also bought from black tactical. they have the best stuffs there for this! :D

oh yeah. there are 2 versions of the m4, one is the SIR while the other is the RIS. the SIR version is for CQB style, usually used in Iraq and Afghanistan. it has a shorter barrel, larger grip around the barrel. which is totally not like the HK416. I bought the RIS instead, because it has a thinner barrel grip area. oh God what the hell do you call that component! the RIS looks pretty much the same as the HK416, the shape is almost the same, all i had to do was to tweak the front sights a lil to model it after the front of a HK. it was pretty easy. :)

this replica was very easy to model, the tougher part is the...i dont know. zzz. the whole process was just about 5 hours long? pretty familiar with these already, so its fast. It was fun! i really loved the end product, very happy with the weight of the gun, although i didnt hit 2.950. i think i hit about 2kg+++ liked the weathering, mum just said wow! how did you do that! might do another 2 when i have the time after the As! it was tiring on my legs though, all the running around and kneeling around to paint all the stuffs. i did have enough time to complete it! it is a joy to finally see my imagination come to reality, never thought of making a HK lookalike. (although i still think it kinda fails) quite some bit of planning went into this before hand due to the tight budget that i had! those assesories costs a bomb alright. thing is everything looks pretty affordable for a start. when you price all of them together, you see the big bomb. now i have lots of spare paint/materials and tools to use for the rest of my models! hehehe.

Warhammer Friday!

WohoooOoo! its been so long since i last blogged! reason being i was just wayyyyy too lazy to upload photos. i seriously do not like the idea of having to upload photos through blogger..it takes forever..usually i do it with photobucket! but this time, photobucket has more or less kicked the bucket. something is wrong with the uploader..oh well! lets get on with it! have some pretty interesting stuffs this time!

Prelims is OVER!!! like finally the toughest paper ever in my life is DONE! however...the most COMPETITIVE paper of my life isnt over yet! oh great..just 45 more days to go man! or is it 46.. bah! its all around there~

On last friday, after i ended my exam, i went shopping around city area! man it was soooo crowded, all thanks to the F1 race. The night practice session was gonna start at 7pm?? and people were queuing up at 11am?! Man! maybe they were vying for the walkabout spots. well 3 minutes later, i found myself shopping in Funan IT Mall. Now that they have like the 5th floor dedicated to LOADS of hobby shops, man its getting so interesting! Its no longer just those IT gadgets, but rather its filled with a maid cafe, anime figurine shops, plastic modelling shops, um military equipment shop..etc etc. its really interesting now! (goes to show how backward i am) i blame it on school and exams. :)

But its not a bad thing! i got myself some fun stuffs to kill time on monday, my rest day! really really tired. Need a break. Kit Kat wouldnt do the job~ so i got myself some plastics to start off :) will upload the stuffs if i feel like it.

here is what i found! last week, whilst taking a break from boring studies, i found this Warhammer 40k thingy...i was like what is this game...? o.o their armours look so coool! this is the video that i watched..

then i was huh! nice! oh wait but i am already busy with Alliance of Valiant Arms..so i will give it a miss. *scrolls through a few videos*

there are models for the game?! and there is a non-console game?! whats this?? after tht i kinda stopped there cuz i got lost. -.- had no idea what the people were doing with the models..it was like red alert 2 or smth.

Then coming back to my trip to Funan IT Mall, i found this new shop just right next to Black Tactical! oh btw, black tactical is where i get all my accessories/replica guns to start off. Its like my base model shop for guns. For gundams, i have another store. For tools, i usually get em from the gundam model store since it has really good stocks! IF not, just go Art Friend. Easiest choice! xD paints are just about the same price! i do brush painting btw. -.- no airbrush for me!

this is the shop, this is the shop! :D Its called...BATTLE BUNKER. then when i walked closer to the display panels outside the shop, guess what i saw!

I was like NO WAY. what a coincidence! that looks just like warhammer 40k! so i decided to jump into the shop and have a look. :)

One guy named Daniel approached me, asking if i was interested in it! hahaha of course i am! i just so love those majestic armours that the soldiers have man. totally my style~ Then he introduced me around this cool shop, where i saw these 2 HUGE tables that were done like a battlefield. now i get the idea of the whole "red alert" thing man! Its just like the game, but its in real life, and it uses dices and plays by the inches..hmmm interesting!

After walking around quite some bit, i spotted this mini table that had these figurines put on display! Having those itchy fingers of mine, i couldnt resist but pick em up and see the detailing of the artworks!

The original model is a grey base, then you can paint it whatever way you want to. The rest of the models are the original colours btw :) they have like 6+ different factions to choose from? then you can buy your own figurines, paint em and use em in battle! how cool is that?! Best part, you can always invest in your army and buy bigger and badder stuffs! special points and status goes to units using buildings for covers too :) everything plays by the inches, players take turns.

Apparently they have a 'master' who teaches them how to do different sorts of painting. Like washing, weathering.. frankly speaking, i only know the basic painting, marking out, washing, dry brush style weathering.. and i have no idea how to do layering.. Example of layering? look at the model's white cloth in the middle. The effects of darker shades and distinct lines with different shades of grey/white, thats layering. Really nice! :) i have lots to learn eh! yup the master painted this out of a simple grey figurine. The parts can be interchanged too! like arms, legs, heads.

Cool stuffs indeed! man i am so tempted to try this out once my a levels are done. Until then, all temptations have to wait! except for temptations for ICE CREAM!! =D

What a dream!

Man did i have a weird dream! okay i am not talking about my life..life is more like a nightmare than a dream to me! well for now..and this nightmare is probably gonna last for say say say...3 months?! Oh God. Yes i am still in the midst of my prelims :) this week is like round 2! last week was round one. i just cleared chemistry paper 2 and economics paper 1 today :) Both papers had my fingers sprinting around the pages! Ah but im glad they are over. Now i am only left with Chemistry and Physics Paper 1, and Math Paper 2. Pffft. Math paper 2 is another 3 hour long paper D: paper 1 is also 3 hours long. tsk! Ah great. Today is monday! and..Mr Chu, our econs HOD has to tell us to come back to school at 1.45 on next tuesday for a mock econs exam! T.T of all days, it has to be marking day! WTH WTH WTH. There goes my much awaited break.

oops! i kinda veered off topic (again). Okay last night was pure...tiring -.- of all things i had to dream of, i had to dream of me being in an action movie flick. well thats what happens when you keep watching war videos, browsing combat stuffs online..well i have been checking out military stuffs nowadays. Its like certain periods of my life, i would be checking out different stuffs. Last week was a mix between guns and cars -.- typical guy eh? Still browsing LEGO though! :D looking for more inspirations for my year-end-project. Probably rob a bank to have some nice capital to start with xP. kiddinggggg. oh speaking of war videos, i watched LOADS of homecoming videos. :) man its so touching to see all the US soldiers return home to their families, especially when they spring a surprise on em! :D lemme share some~

Jumping from place to place, i even dreamnt i was running up and down an airplane fighting off terrorists. sheeesh how retarded. OMG just sooo much stuffs! and guess what! when i woke up in the middle of the night, i wasnt on my bed -.- SO MUCH FOR SLEEPWALKING EH. oh and my pillows, they were...kinda messed up. pffft and guess what! i ended up so tired this morning, i was like a zombie! took a power nap in between chemistry and econs exams and i was all good to go again. :) well now im dead tired...hopefully tomorrow would be a lot better :)

OKAY. Prelims is officially getting really boring! not the exam itself..neverrrr..its the process of revising for it D: the prelims are always so tough! definietly wish i have a lot more time to study for it..and here i am blogging! so ironic. but anywayyy im using the school's computer to blog! pffft just typing up to here is already a pain. the keyboard keys are so stiff! ouch to my fingers!

They should like grant me citizenship for the library man. i have been camping here for days and nights..and it is beginning to get a bit boring...well i dont really have the chance to talk to anyone since i confine myself in the cubicle..(NOT the toilet cubicle) there is like no one to talk to! unlike when there is still class ongoing :) luckily, arriving early in school at about 7.30am allows me to have free time to go running and slack around! its like i suffer from "monday blues" every morning -.- tsk!

actually, i feel like discussing some controversial issues now! :D feeling pretty GP-ish. But yet, i do not have the chance to start blabbering about such issues due to time contraint :( gotta go prepare for my Physics and economics exams tomorrow! T.T pray hard i can answer all those questions in the exams tomorrow man...hehe im reading some naruto manga at the same time :P its like i so deprived of such stuffs man..all thanks to the A levels.

ahh i really wanna get a new xperia! hehehe now im using the x10 and its so-so. performance definitely is a far cry from the xperia arc and xperia ray..never gonna get an iphone because of its camera..i really want a good camera phone! :)

the new blogger layout thing when you post entries is just so different. weird...gotta get used to it! i wanna play lego, i wanna do plastic modelling..i wanna play piano..ah i miss my hobbies.

BIG N TASTY

Today, i tried the new Macdonalds burger and its goood!! =D it is by far one of my favourite burgers! along with the Filet-o-fish and McSpicy! or is it McChicken..ah! its all the same. pffft. just as fattening. But because i was really sick of school food, i forced my friends to eat at mac with me instead! xD I am so not buying the claim that Macdonalds has zero cholesterol vegetable oil :P yeah yeah its that piece of paper on the tray. frankly speaking, im not a big fan of mac because of their fattening meals, but when they have something new that is not barbecued, count me in man! im sure to try it! okay lets get down to business!

Big 'n' Tasty burger meal is priced at SG$7.95...like seriously, dear macdonalds, please get rid of the 5 cents please! just charge us $7.90. For God's sake we have enough 5 cents already! moreover we cant possibly buy anything with it. even water costs $0.80.

first thing i did to this burger, was compare it to the quarter pounder! this is ALOT better than both the quarter pounder and the double quarter! i personally find the quarter pounder too oily. its like SOAKED in oil! i bet this patty was too..but at least you have vegetables (lots of it) and some slices of tomatoes to go with it :) so at least it doesnt feel so sinful! the sauce that they used was good too! tell ya more later :P Presenting to you...the Big N Tasty burger!!!

Just look at the amount of veggie on it! i think i can guess how the preparation line is like. ..just before the top loaf is put, loads of lettuce is dumped on it and the sauce used to stick em onto the burger!

There ya go! that huge burger! Frankly speaking it isnt as "value for money" as the quarter pounder. Reason being the price difference is about 50 cents? and you get more veggie and some tomato. ACTUALLY, i thought the burger was HUGE, i cant remember what the burger was called..what double big mac? something like that. it was a mammoth burger! but this isnt. its just the same size as a quarter pounder. Even though it isnt that worth, i will still buy this burger over the quarter pounder because it doesnt feel as sinful or queasy after eating all those oil-filled patties.

I like the idea of having some veggies and tomatoes slotted in the burger! i HATE pickles though. wonder who eats em...totally spoils the taste of the burger. Ah yeah there is cheese too! usual stuff. and the special sauce that they flood it with on the lettuce!

NOW FOR THE SAUCE. i have seriously NO idea what is the sauce, looks like thousand island sauce and tastes abit like it though! Dont know if you can see the sauce in between...but oh well! thats all i have! i didnt take anymore photos :) only took some snapshots of it! Its really delicious!

The sauce goes very well with the burger as a whole, everything is pretty nicely proportioned. you dont get a very bad balance like the quarter pounder where its just meat and cheese. Its a burger worth trying but its not so worth on the price side! oh yeah, i didnt upsize my meal because they would have given me too many fries. Nice new burger, im lovin' it!

oh wait....there goes my 2.4km morning run D: NOOOOOOO!!!!

looks like i have some "catching up" to do. tsk!

Fattening Holidays

ahhh lets see, its day 2 of the holidays and man im like suffering from withdrawal systoms due to the lack of exercise! kinda retarded -.- like just keep falling sick! hmmm dad just changed laptop, so im using his new one! :) bouncy keyyyys!

prelims is just 5 days away! so dead, so dead. and guess what! i actually took an hour to solve this darn math question that was worth like 10 marks. 10 FREAKIN marks! and i took so long T.T damn vectors man...i hate doing those stupid prelim papers..not stupid but rather, so darn clever. zzzz it super irritates me when i know that i know how to solve the question, but i just cant! zzz. if i seriously have totally no idea where to start, then yes i wont be that pissed off. but if its something that i already know, then DAMN.

but hey! little to my surprise that mocpages is back up! :D yes im a LEGO fan and mocpages is awesomeeee! well...these few months, loads of people began streaming into LEGO and it seems to me as though it it not just catching the attention of teens and adults in the USA, but also in my country Singapore, LOADS of people are catching on to this (expensive) hobby. frankly speaking, its WAYYYY overpriced in SG. :( but hey! when i popped by the LEGO store near my house, most of the customers were working adults! on their lunch breaks :P haha if you are a lego fan and you have no idea what is mocpages, you gotta check it out~! click here for Mocpages! really really cool lego creations there :) i get my inspiration from there too!

okayyyy im still preparing for my A levels..darn! and prelims is coming up, gonna be a killer 2 weeks for me! T.T all those tough and demoralising papers.... :/ i really do hope my efforts pay off for the A levels, which is the most important exam of my life..yes its more important than my driving test!

ah but still, i cant help but think of LEGO! xD alreayd have a plan after my a levels...hehehe. Here is my plan! =D pretty ambitious..
1. build a new lego model and probably install lights in it! definitely gonna be my own creation..sort of. usually i start off with a base set. like my previous creation, (the one below) i used emperor palpatine's shuttle as a base kit.

AAAND, my new creation is gonna be based off this set!

it's like 300 bucks.. D: lots of saving to do! plus $50 budget for lightings etc etc. and another $50 for spare parts + maybe paint? if the parts come in werid colors. plus my new bricks are running low..

ooooo! today in my garden, there was a pleasant surprise! =D

hahahaha my orchids bloomed :) saw another batch gonna bloom too~~

wohoo! today i found something really interestingggggg~! its called space painting! well...its basically painting space using spray paint :) sounds simple but man! its really tough! plus i think its gonna be damn expensiveeee. oh great x.x i wish spray painting is alot cheaper :/

ah a picture paints a thousand words, a video paints a million words! :D lemme show ya a video on what its like..frankly speaking, i think its gonna be pretty tough trying to get the materials in Singapore..probably can try art friend :/

ITS JUST SO COOL!!but...the start up costs sure arent cheap! plus definitely i need lots of practice..

hmmm....spray paint isnt a problem, all those extra bits aint a prob too..just the paper. and the COST. TSK! welllll probably i should just stick to plastic modelling and lego eh? probably im venturing too far out~overly ambitious..grah!

ah yes its the presidential elections this weekend...but i have already been so bored of it after all those debating against family and friends on who is the best candidate and why x.x so tired till i cant even be bothered with the elections anymore! its 11:39pm now and the results should be out REALLY SOON. provided there is no recounting...i am hoping that Dr Tan Cheng Bock wins while Mr Tan Jee Say loses real badly. Now that Mr Tan Kin Lian has already conceded defeat, i really hope TJS gets the last cuz i seriously cant stand him :P

grah next week is gonna be awesome! only need to go school for 2 days, and there are lessons only for 1 day! plus of all the days, WEDNESDAY is the only day with lessons! hehehehe we get to go for PE!! awesomeeee! last PE session of my entire life. no longer would i be able to go for physical education lessons anymore in my whole life, and this really marks the beginning of the end of my JC life. D: im really sad that this chapter has to end..but i will not close this chapter. im seriously tired out! x.x shall continue blogging tml!

Night study and more LEGO!!

wohoo! so now this is about MY life! hehehe its pretty cool when my name's initials are M and Y :P Ming Yang. how cool is that>?! Mid Year Sales = MY sales woot! ah well talking about shopping, its been so long ever since i stepped out of the compounds of school and house :P its just always this area. life just functions around these 2 places! freakishly, i spend more time in school than at home! thats a Singaporean student life :) but one thing that is for sure, i ENJOY my junior college life! no matter how stressful it is, in terms of workloads and all those tests and exams, we always have friends around who are all in the same boat :) oh but only a meagre 1/4 makes it into the local universities after the A levels..which means the other 3/4 probably got swept off the boat by some tidal wave or got seduced by some mermaid and drown or just got eaten up by some sea serpent.

The reason why i spend more time at school that at home, is partly because of night study. which means... i reach school at about 7:30am, i have lessons/study till 9pm :) i so do not want this life to end..seriously! i really do enjoy all the accompany i have in school, knowing that everyone is in the same situation and striving hard. camaraderie people! camaraderie! usually i stay in the library throughout, and i have a break for a cup of free milo! :D here's a photo of how its like during night study..well..when im breaking :P

oh that's my friend's phone...and guess what! she used my phone to take a photo of me, which is why i have this photo..then she hacked my facebook account -_-''' ah but i did just the exact same thing! im actually holding her phone instead, updating her status :P teehee!

when i got home last friday, i saw a big plastic bag on my table! turned out to be LEGO!! mum bought more lego! rather, he colleague helped her to buy more!

these are old sets, but they went on a 30% discount. in SG, LEGO is expensive~! with such discounts, its a total rip off! if only the prices could drop T.T why is the sing dollar strengthening against the greenback but yet the prices arent dropping?! what happened to the economics theories?!

okay okay back to topic, so after a nice and refreshing bath, i was all ready to fix my new lego!!

hehehe all these parts...it makes me feel like going on another big LEGO project! :D oh wait but come to think of it, i seriously need a base expansion! D: not enough parking slots for everything! ships/scooters, every space is utilised to the maximum already! problem is i probably have to expand upwards.. terrible! as in i will need LOTS of bricks and parts to ensure the whole structure is steady x.x and tall enough for huge ships to park..

*fast forwards* thats the first set done! :D what for show the building process eh? -.- pretty normal stuff..

haha! the good old scooter part being used for the snow speeder! innovative indeed! :D *lightbulb!* maybe its time to convert all those scooters of mine into snow speeders! xD and make a huge transport ship that drops em off!

currently broke, no $$ so im relying on kind-hearted contributions into my lego collection! hopefully one day, ONE DAY! it becomes an empire..that would be so coool...

i will probably post a photo of the current lego collection i have some other time.. tsk now i just expanded into this new table :P as usual hogging up all the tables and chairs in the house xD so far i converted the place into this runway kinda thing..even though i intend to make SUPER SHORT runways! :D whats the point when most of the "ships" vertically take off right? long runways that are meant for planes are just gonna waste space~something i dont really have now. so probably have to start thinking how to expand up! but before that, i must strengthen the base colummns.. dont what them toppling! plus now, the HUGE ship that i have completed, can store 2 scooters! =D not to mention it has a HUGE bombing bay. really proud of that creation~! will upload more photos of it on the "runway".. its currently packed with loads of lego minifigs =.= have yet to create another "holding place" for em. built a shoddy bridge connecting the 2 tables! and it folds up! to let peeps walk by~ its only 2 studs long..which means if there are 2 lego minifigs walking in opposite directions, one has to push the other off the cliff.

JC2's farewell gift

at first i wanted to combine everything into one post! but i just found it too messy, so i decided to split it up :)

first up is the farewell gift from the JC2s to the JC1s! well... since this is the final year in the school and we would not be wearing the school tie anymore, most of us decided to troll the J1s by choosing this new tie design that was really bright and striking! its a thick-striped tie, really really thinck strips, probably an inch thick. and the tie donned the colours of the school emblem, red black and white! it was either that tie, or another that was just a simple black tie, that matches with the school pants/skirt with the school emblem at the corner of the tie. both ties are slim ties, unlike the ones that we are having now..the super fat ones =.=

to simply (and nicely) put it, its one professional looking tie against one light-hearted tie :P there were 2 other designs that didnt really appeal to the cohort..so its just down to these ties! couldnt find any pictures of those ties... hopefully when its out i shall get a copy of em :P

the now what happens is that the fugly tie, the brightly coloured one got chosen because most of the JC2s trolled the J1s by voting for the ugly tie and now the J1s are unhappy about it! lol! ah without the pictures, it really is tough to explain. but hey! this is one more interesting story from my junior college life! =D

Lego Project finally done!

This is i think...the first weekend i survived without gaming! as in yes i do have the option to choose it, but i chose not to. Reason being, studies. Seriously i am wondering if it will relly help or will i ultimately give in. i really hope i dont. With Lego, i know i wont! =D

welllll after a delay of 1month plus all thanks to the slow process of getting my lego bricks, i am proud to announce that my project is DONE!! =DD but it turned ouot really different as compared to the prototype -.- oh well, due to the severe lack of certain spare parts, i had to improvise A LOT.

The ship was created using only NEW parts, so its like a total brand new lego piece. i didnt want any old pieces in it..so i ordered some simple lego pieces, one lego set and surprisingly, mum bought for me the 650 lego bricks set! so phew! those really helped me to supplement all those gaps man.

some the mechanisms that i created was kept and reproduced from the prototype.
1. The bombing mechanism similar to that of LEGO's actual product from the Venator set.
2. The balancing mechanism. As the front of the ship is totally off the ground. (i had to do some serious balancing to ensure it stays up with maximum weight)
3. The engines/boosters. That was just to add some mechanical detail on the ship.
4. The opening hatch into the ship that extends when opened :P

Mechanism that i copied directly from LEGO's set, emperor palpatine's shuttle:
1. The landing gear
2. The wings (i later improved the design to suit my ship)

okay enough talk, lets get down to the process! :D

My ship was done in 2 days, the prototype took about a week to construct. I only did the LEGO when i had breaks in between my studies. The construction of it was later improvised to suit the pool of lego parts that i have. The constructing process was split into a few parts to simplify matters :) after piecing eveything together, i then improved on the weaker portions and did some mini detailing. The very first part that i did was the main frame xD was damn afraid it would suddenly break apart if i didnt do the main frame.

this is the good o' holed plastic bag that holds all the small lego pieces! i still remember those times when i was still small, tearing open one of these and letting the pieces fly~

i was seriously surprised by the numbering of the bags of lego! :D they actually helped to section everything, making life a whole lot easier~ bah i ended up pouring all the pieces together cuz i wanted to see what i could take from the whole pool of legos instead~

thats the wing for my ship! as mentioned above, i actually improved the design later on. its sturdy alright! sometimes my lousy creations fall apart when i drop em. This doesnt!

personally, i noticed this weak point on the wing -.- its like supported by a 2-stud flat piece?! so pathetic. easy to break. True enough, that was the first piece that came off while i fixed the wings onto my ship.

oh yeah my ship was done in a few parts, like actual LEGO products, so as to simply the process. Careful planning was needed though! having a mismatch of parts will defintely prove to be a HUGE problem later on..

this was done in the morning! see if you can spot the half-done ship! :D yupp you are looking at it on top of all those lego pieces that i poured together~i poured all those multi-coloured bricks on the floor instead :P and used a roller chair hehe!

thats the landing mechanism thingy! bahh i had to do some tweaks to it as the centre of gravity was too far in front~ worked out really sweet later on!

ah the wings, the wings. but hey! i decided to do without the folding wings concept because i found it too irritating. you imagine everytime you flip the lego model around the darn wings keep moving here and there? zzzz! plus it made the whole model seem pretty flimsy. Actually it became flimsy. lolol. so thats one of the mechanisms that i threw out!

What a week up ahead

Hello world! :D this week is gonna suck pretty bad. I have lotsa work to do and so little time! This time, everything is really cramped together :S sometimes I really do wish my life was a lot simpler, I don't really mind having to study in school till 9 everyday, in fact I love it! But the problem here is that these "extra" stuffs are coming in the way and disrupting the really long hours I have for studying.

Let's see what I have this week..
1. Piano exam (holy crappp!!!)
2. Chemistry mock exam
3. General Paper mock exam
4. Testimonials to be approved. (this is seriously damn time consuming)
5. Train for standing broad jump and 2.4km run.
6. Head to the gym twice and the pool once!
Bah all those major stuffs all at once! T.T I just finished writing my personal qualities section for the school graduation certificate and now I have these 3 paragraphs that I have to write. 3 of the most outstanding stuffs you have done in college.. Hmmm...oh and those are on top of all those usual homework that teacher love to pile us up with. At least no student have been reported of drowning in homework. =) yet.

Ahhh okay fine I'm taking a break now after studying in school and later on I got to rush home and get ready to rush out for piano lesson. Tsk! I really hope I get to sleep by 12 LATEST tonight. :) every day I have been sleeping at 1am++ and eating all those heaty durians have taken a toll on my health! So...sleep early I must!

But hey! Life isn't THAT bad! At least I still get to enjoy my jc life with my classmates and friends! Looking on the brighter side of life, canteen food is gooooood! >:D

Oh and like finally after an agonizing and close-to-pissing wait for my Lego parts, they are finally ready! Stupid thing is less than half of the parts could be found. Like seriously that bad??! Plan B!! Guess I just have to get some other Lego set to patch up for the parts that I want :) can't wait to post up pictures of my completed lego model! But hey it's gonna take some time to build on whatever I have man. Initially it would have been a lot faster if I just build a separate one and use the prototype as a guide. Not anymore tsk!

Lego needs a lot more development in Singapore.. First stop: provide more spare parts! Then.. Lower the prices dammit!

Will upload the pictures and tell ya the whole story of getting this project done!

If life was a nutshell...

People used to always say "life in a nutshell". Guess it has become cliche but still, when i opened up this tab to do my blog post, this was the very phrase that came to mind :)

Ah if life WAS a nutshell instead, i would tell ya mine would be a really battered and war-torn shell, probably half a mile underwater drowning already :P yes yes A levels is killing me, but now, i even have the CCA records and testimonial to do T.T its like doing project work all over again! just that this is way more troublesome. we have to look for the specific teacher in charge of the various events and get their signatures, so as to testify that we actually went for the event, or participated in certain competitions blah blah blah.

and because the testimonial is about yourself, i actually have to type like "ming yang was a keen learner..." its just so awkward typing about your personal qualities. Its even weirder when you are trying to beef up your testimonial, talking about what you have learnt. It sounds alright if you are typing like "through the seminar, i was able to gain self confidence". problem is, you are typing this instead "*inserts name* went for the seminar and he gained self confidence" keep typing like that and the awkwardness grows =P

ah tomorrow is fridayyyy!! but im still gonna stay back in school to study. tsk tsk! i really want to play with lego tml D: in serious shortage of lego bricks!!! Balance of Payments current account deficit hehehehe

OH YAY! like finally i actually remembered to blog and have the time to blog! :D OKAY first half of this blog post is gonnabe about me ranting about all my schoolwork =.= these few days have been really busy with me! moreover, i am going for nightstudy whenever i can during the weekdays. so..that makes me, theoretically speaking, studying till 9pm for every weekday. hmmm NOT BAD! but thats like best situation..so its definitely gonna be less. plus all those gym sessions and running and what not, im sure the number of hours should drop by quite a bit.

pffft seriously all these work now is giving me quite a big headache. i have those darn small quizes and tests to study for, tuition homework to finish up, plus obviously all those usual schoolwork and i also have this school graduation certificate to write about. damn. JC2, life is WAYYYY more hectic than JC1. still remember those days when i had the luxury of time to sit at the school cafe and eat ice cream and revise for 3 hours. those were the days...now, im clambering for as much time as possible! that includes time to rest.

im tired. actually, i wanted to sleep at 11pm tonight thinking that i can get some extra sleep as i have been sleeping really late these days, but guess what! im BLOGGING at 11:19pm! and i am still doing up some work. tsk. Tomorrow's wednesday..! and the principal wants to talk to us because the class is under performing. i hereby officially blame my fridge for my results.

OO something happy today! i initially wanted to retake my napfa pull ups on thurs, but Mr Kwok, my PE teacher told me to retake it today, so i went ahead with it :) to my surprise, i did 5 pull ups! The last time i did, i was only able to pull 2. all thanks to gyming, the number jumped in just 3-4months! so not bad not bad :P my standing broad jump increased too! by 10+cm! :D so cool! but yet, still not enough to get that darn silver so oh well. plus i have 2.4 run to complete too..that segment is a totaly let down -.- why cant i just have more stamina! should have so exercised during puberty! if i ever have kids, imma dump em on the treadmill!

bzzzzrrt! back to school! how am i gonna be able to wake up so early again!! looks like those dark eyebags of mine are gonna come haunting back at me eh. and yes i am so pissed off by those noobs on Singapore SF! like seriously! these peeps from faraway lands come playing our servers and become major laggers, while they DO have their own servers in their country. wtheck! oh come on! Last time i was pretty good in USF, now after being forced to move over to SSF, its so much tougher to play against "teleporters.." but oh well!

this blog post is sure gonna be a real wordy one! sorry guys no choice. my fingers are too lazy to plug in my phone into the com and extract new photos~anywayyyy im really hoping i can get more lego bricks soon :) in dire need of em! so many ideas and creations waiting to bloom! damn! if only i have the money to go along with it. :P okay okay i will update more on this post tml...i seriously dont feel like going back to school now since i am enjoying myself, slacking around~ :P

hahaha the title says it all! well, i do have school tomorrow, but its just for celebrating racial harmony dayyy so still, no lessons! :D not until next monday! awesome rightttttt..? but so far, i have yet to download the new songs that i want to add into my itouch and i have yet to think of a nice excuse for my horrible grades that are to come during the parent-teacher meeting :P

ANYWAYY this one week of "holiday" has been kinda disaapointing to me :P definitely, it has so far given me a really nice break. well sort of. i finally had time and opportunity to have a really nice fellowship with my cell group, haven't had one in ages! all thanks to my restrictive parents. cant wait for Jayesslee to come over to my church this weekend to perform! yeah! gonna be so soothing~awesome awesomeeeee! probably try to invite some friends over to have a good time!

for some reason, i seem to be more occupied during the holidays than on school days. like seriously. i spent my past 2 days running around, rushing through stuffs (which includes studies) and had very little time to sleep. seriously feeling really drowsy during the holidays. well finally comes the middle of the week! Wednesday! the day that probably most of everyone of us would moan all over it. but hey! i get to wake up late, go for piano lessons, go for a nice refreshing swim under the hot sun and play with LEGO! life couldnt have gotten any slacker =D be jealous! muahahahaha!

im really happy today was such a fruitful day! :P i did nothing but SLACK!! fruitful in a GOOD WAY INDEED. i would easily get an A for stalling time/killing time/slacking. Its no wonder why my good friends gave me a tag that wrote "im a slacker" for my birthday! geez wonder how would life be when school starts again! T.T back to my robotic lifestyle indeed. bleh! xP

OH YES I WANT TO TALK ABOUT THE MEMORY PILLOW. mum bought this $90.90 pillow at the Robinson's sales at expo and she only paid $27.70 because the sales person swapped the price tags on purpose! :P she ended up buying 3 of em and some other pillows at the wrong pricings -.- tell ya more about it tml!

OKAY! exams are finally over! :D well but not the A levels, so in a way...my life still sucks! Dont know why but my life seems to suck even more after the mid year exams -.- so much for relaxing time...

everything isnt really going that smoothly. Still feeling tired due to the lack of sleep during examination time..and my piano skills have just plummeted. tsk! and piano exam is in a month's time. plus im having problems with the last song all thanks to the complicated chords and my parents rushed me into taking the exams :( so technically speaking, i have less than half the usual amount of time i have to learn all the exam pieces and they are much harder. im taking grade 7 piano, skipped grade 6. so the last one that i did was 5. THATS the big difference.

well now that i have more time on my hands, im really trying to catch up on everything else um including studies..as in tuition work T.T loads of backlog to clear man! sucks to be me. so i went to the NDP rehearsal. here are some photos! its been quite some while ever since i went for one. it is the first going to the floating platform though :)

o.o thats quite a lot to go.. After that I have close to a week of no school!!! Only have to go to school on Thursday to celebrate racial harmony day =.= like seriouslyyyy. Ooo what I like about this kinda holiday, is that everyone else has already started school and students are probably rushing out all of their undone holiday homework! :D at least we can go out without having to worry so much about the crowds! Muahahahahaaaa.

There are so many things that I want to do during that week break but there is just so much that I can squish in :P gonna be busy once I'm darn with the economics exam on Friday!
Then...
imma plan for a huge lego project =D it's in the planning stages and so far I'm nearly done with the skeleton of it, left with the exterior, armaments, details and engines. Still gotta figure out if the weight ratio is alright.. Once I'm done with the plan, I shall get new bricks and begin! Planning has already taken up approx 6hours, hopefully can finish it by saturday night (exam finishes on friday afternoon) then I can order the bricks from US. Sadly, Singapore has a too limited range of bricks.

The last moc(my own creation) I did, is about 30cm long.. In Lego terms, 40 studs long :D oh moc is used for any Lego creations and designs that do not belong to Lego itself :P

I shall unveil it when done! Got the idea from mocpages =)

i so ABHOR mathematics! grrrr who is the one who created all the numbers and weird symbols??? as i tried some practice papars in preparation for my MYE (which i think is gonna be terrible), i went on to try prelim papers. THATS when math really got on my nerves! its like "why cant i solve the damn question whyyyyyyyy!!!" T.T Despite all my rantings, the questions never get any easier *sigh* thats when i look to God, piano and lego for help.

Lately, i have been hooked onto lego.. uh-oh... BUTTT its fun! :D seriously it feels really good when you build something that looks decent and is sturdy! well afterall, whatever you have built, is born out of your brain :) due to the lack of lego bricks, my creations tend to turn out..multi-coloured. zzz.

I always get random ideas when im studying at home, so...studying at home is really..unproductive D: wanted to go to school to study but its just soooo far! school really has that awesome ambience to keep me studying ;) darn the fridge at home!

Preparing for the A levels is like being pregnant.
You start having weird cravings and random thoughts,
become more erratic,
begin to eat alot hence growing fatter,
and worst of all, after the A levels, the stomach buldge stays there. just like after giving birth to a child.

If i get good results, the fist thing i will probably thank, is my fridge.

oh yeah! i finally found the lego model that i want! :D apparently its coming out this 1 september..so that means after the As. so i dont mind! something to look forward to! and it wont be much of a distraction too! :D since i will not have any chance to fix it.hopefully i can ask it as a present from dad :P estimate the damage to be about $440. so NOT going to fork out for this! heeeeeee.

ah its about time i found my look-alike from China so that he can take my A levels for me. oh a hardworking and smart one.

Never too old to play lego!

well recently i spotted TWO videos on youtube that really caught my attention, which then really got me hooked onto lego! thats the thing about youtube..i was searching about something else..i think planes? then i ended up at Lego, all thanks to the "related videos" section. :) here are the two videos! Then i shall tell ya more about what i have been doing.. its kinda like an updated version of the previous post that i did..yesterday?

this is FREAKIN' amazing! FYI lego never produced such a model, it is fan built. wish i could build one! after my As, after my As..

this is the base that inspired me! :D frankly speaking, i dont have THAT kinda amount of bricks. the problem is my pool of lego bricks come from all of the previous lego models that have been dismantled. so mine is rainbow coloured o.o and the base that they use for the higher floors..are the better quality and more sturdy ones. im using the old bases for the higher floors~

so the first video inspired my plane/ship =.= spaceship or whatever. i tried getting as close to it as possible with whatever i had. tsk! and i added in my fair bit of brains :P same for the base, it was previously in ruins, i washed the bricks, tidied it up and started work right from first floor all the way up :) LOADS OF PICTURES COMIN UP! still uploading....ZZZZ...81.9mb worth of pics.

while waiting... i shall go watch youtube videos for more ideas :P and post em here!

now lemmme bring you through the pics! first up, is FIRST floor! then we will go all the way up till 3rd floor. eh the floors are really spaced far apart in terms of height, so that i can store all the vehicles on each floor! pretty fun to build! :P but pretty irritating sometimes -_-"' i gotta build all the columns together for a better support. and as the platforms have to lego bits underneath, it was one hell of a time stabilising em! The layout of the base changed ALOT.

wellllll judging by the amount of work that i have (uncompleted) its so gonna cost me some butt fats! come to think of it, during the holidays, i seldom get off my chair. not to mention there is no recess, no frequent toilet breaks that we used to give ourselves while in school. its still the holidays! like just past the mid point. but still, it feels as though there is little/no time left to the mid year examsssss.....noooooooooooo! all hope is losttttttttt!

studying for A levels is like being pregnant. always having all of these weird ideas and cravings.. now i seriously want to play with lego! just rebuilt/refurbished this SUPER OLD lego set that i built, erm. all i did and is gonna do, is use all of the parts that i used to have. basically i dont have any lego toy that is left by its own. surely it would have been dismantled in some way! some parts are bound to be taken off!

pffft DELL computers seriously sucks. it always fails hard on me whenever i use it... sucks to be me! now its the keyboard not being connected to the darn com.. the computer usb ports seem to be giving way already :/ OK OK back to topic!

i have been getting loads and loads of work, so im just trying to complete all of em asap.. so that explains why i have so litte time to blog! partly also because i usually blog on the go, and during the weekdays, i spend most of my time at home.. studying, practising piano, lazing around.. yeah!

sometimes i do wish life was easier on me.

I did this lego base thingy today, took me bout an hour! which includes all the washing of lego pieces as they were all filthy..as i said, im using old lego bricks okayyyy... stickers are all peeling off also x.x

this is the base that i rebuilt! last time, it used to be in a huge wreak because tuition teachers whacked into it..so it toppled like halfway.. then everything was dusty and in a big mess. i live very near to the main road..so house gets dusty quickly! the previous one had 2 levels.. lemme see if i have the previous pic..then now this has 3 levels and a MUCH BIGGER surface area! im personally impressed that i managed to pull it off despite the lousy platforms that i have..

im currently working on this..i just dismantled in and added in more parts to the pool of legos, so im really hoping i can get a cool ship outta this! this is one of those ships that i kept since...probably 5 years ago. i have yet to dismantle it! today is the day i destroyed it! to make way for something nicer :)

will post more detailed photos when everything is done! long way to go btw.

Im finally blogging! :D on my dad's com. actually, i wanted to blog about my birthday feast, buttttt i have yet to upload the darn photos onto photobucket D: reason being i marely have the time to use my com xD and when i do so, im off to play AVA instead! oh its alliance of valiant arms btw!

life has beeen pretty nice! welllllll i get to slack a lot, since there is no school or tests or whatsoever, just that my butt is aching from all the unproductive studying that i am doing in the holiday. tsk aint studying much when i have these things around me!

2. Itouch (unlessi listen to music)
3. i whole big stack of papers (i have like over 50cm height of papers all carpeted under my table)
4. the fridge. (frankly speaking, i open it so many times i have more or less memorised everything inside.

yup yup! so....the holidays arent a productive time for me, wake up late, sleep late, but the good part of the holidays? i get to go for a morning jog down east coast park! :D with the sunlight and wind caressing my face, with the vast ocean in view. awesomeness. ^^ its such a luxury to live like 4mins walk away from the best beach in singapore :D

hmmm currently i really DO FEEL LIKE SHOPPING. like freakin' do everything but study! but..there is such a huge workload, it just seems so impossible :) not to mention, there is the Mid Year exams once the holidays end. then there are still the other major exams to go T.T then there is still 2 years of NS. OH DARN. hahaha i seriously do hope my NS days would be one enjoyable one, JC life so far, really is the best time of my life, im really enjoying myself, despite all the workloads and stress. Its really packed with so much fun and laughter, everyone goes through thick and thin together :) PJC is an awesome school! ^^ JC curriculum should really be made 3 years instead. spread out the workload and stress plus we students get to have more fun! and i surely do have friends who echo that :)

Weather has been pms-ing these few days. Either it's searingly hot or it's just stormy. Heeeee but both are just the type of weathers that I love to go running in! :D can't stand it when there isn't any sun because it makes me feel just so drowsy. Ha in my head it is like "oh well...just a run" for the types of weather that I like, it would be "yeah baby, let's burn some fat!" I just so love torturous weather :D

One thing that is reeeealy interesting this week in the drastic cabinet change. 14 out of 16 seats changed, SM Goh and MM Lee became advisors instead. And they are revising the minister's pay! One thing that I can't stand, is the childishness of netizens who trivially accuse/remark about Tin Pei Ling's actions and capabilities. Come on she is new afterall. If you can give the opposition to lead (even though they have minimal resources and have no control over the cabinet), you can give a chance to her too.

Can't be bothered to defend anyone or anything now. Lololol just tired after a really busy day yesterday! Today is gonna be equally just as tiring. Just done with school on a Saturday and later I'm gonna be having piano lessons then I shall head for a really looong swim and then church! Hoho by the time I get home I'm gonna be sooo tired! Wonder how I'm gonna revise work. :P

I feel like getting a super soaker. Time to soak some people for fun!

Life hasn't been that kind to me lately, i have been filled up with lotsa stuffs sometimes I really wonder if there is an end to it! Actually I wanted to blog about something.. But i forgot. Zzz! And guess what? I wanted to note it down so that I could remember about it! But I forgot about that too. Awesomeness..

Now it's not just about having insufficient sleep, but also the immense amount of energy that I need in the day to exercise, study, revise..etc etc. is just so much, I find myself becoming really drained out at timesssss........ Hence allowing me to become more and more...spongebob-like. A dead one :) ha I can't believe it that I'm actually ranting about my a levels again.

To dear A levels, this is for ya :) *KAPOW!* curse youuuuu!

Thank you for sucking away my life like a blackhole, not just mine but also all the other JC students who have to suffer under your wraith! School is freakin' awesome but you just suck!

Ah but we all know how important it is to get a place in university today :) no choice! Just gotta work at it~

Thanks to my busy schedule, piano practice sure is lagging behind! I used to be able to practice everyday, but now that's the past D: so little time to practice! So little time to calm myself down and really enjoy much needed serenity. Just spent like an hour plus on the piano and now I'm rushing for tuition! Ha I really do miss last year! :)

Life for me has never really changed that much, always the same old routine. Even the weather doesn't change. It is always hot and sunny in the morning and rain/storm in the afternoon and when night falls, there is no change in weather. Maybe weather got tired or something. Whatever happened to erratic global climate and global warming.

Heeee apparently I found a nice anime to watch! It's called black rock shooter, so far I have yet to really explore the websites for other videos or manga on it, I don't even know if there is a manga..don't think so though. Well the story is really interesting and the anime keeps switching back and forth in different phases um just YouTube it ^^ just one episode o.o wonder why.. It's a really new anime though! Nice concept!

Pioneers of the carribean arr~!

teehee hey now school is getting really creative and really generous with their prizes for events! well.. at least its for this on going event for now, pioneers of the carribean! obviously it has something got to do with the new movie that is coming out.. and the school is giving away two tickets a day for those who can find the "treasure" based on the clues posted on the school's twitter account!

apart from it being a wonderful way to attract attention to the previously close-to-extinction school twitter account, it has definitely instilled so much fun in the students as so many people begin hunting high and low for that special ticket that seems so tough to find :P the clues are slightly obvious on where the location of the ticket is...? like students can really guess where the place is -.- we sure had lotsa fun hunting high and low for it! hah the clues for friday's event lead all the pirates in the school to the library..even though they gave the clue of which bookshelf that the ticket was hidden in, people just couldnt find it.. the pirates began to scale the shelves to check the tops and flipping through the pages of every book hoping that the 'golden ticket' pops out! i took a snapshot of it :)

heee cant finddddddd the ticket..... oooo the librarian who is overly stern and ever-fussy was like standing there with crossed arms watching the students flip through her beloved books xD rage mode!

KUDOS TO MY SCHOOL FOR HAVING SUCH AN AWESOME EVENT! like finally one where the students actually actively participate in :P

this is for today! mum and i went to Lot 1 and bought a water resistant doorbell, its the 3rd electronic doorbell that is being placed in our house, after the previous two phailed. thats excluding the good o' metallic bell with a string attached at the bottom. :) its still surviving outside. o.o ah the doorbells kinda always get short-circuited in the pouring rain. heee this was my first idea of what to put in the doorbell :P

what if water is rough instead of smooth?

When the idea of water being rough, first thing that comes to mind, rough seas. But that's not what I'm gonna be talking about. I actually got this (extremely random) thought when I was doing my economics homework. Weird eh? Don't you just marvel at the impact that education has in our lives?Okay back to topic. What I'm talking about, is like "sandy" kinda rough water. Just take it like...drinking water = drinking sandpaper. Erm not that I have tried it.. But you can give it a go! :D jkjk. But can you imagine how different life would be? Hmm.. Let's see where my random train of thought brings us to. The very element of water has and will continue to have a huge impact in our lives. :)

Starting with the most basic of all, using water as part of our source of life. Haha! Imagine drinking "rough" water, the problem of sore throats will NEVER be in our lives ever! Reason being either our throats will be always just as sore till it no longer seems as a problem or our throats will be made of steel till we feel no pain! Imagine..In the future, people are gonna view sore throats as "oh that's normal!"...freeeeaky..!
Imagine water being used to wash clothes and dishes! Everything would be so torn and tattered, people are so gonna need new clothes every month and maybe housewives may need to wear steel gloves to wash clothes (and pray the steel doesn't rust) :P I think humans will have a really hardy mouth, intestine and stomach.

Hmm..water in the ocean and rivers? Fishes would have extremely hard scales, descaling fishes would become a whole lot easier as scales become increasingly obvious! Eee but since they are always filled with so much water within themselves, wouldn't their insides become real stiff too? Since they too, like humans, will evolve to suit their surroundings?So..that also means that we are gonna be having really awful fishes to eat..bad idea! No thanks! But hey! If rough (sand-like) water is really tough swim in then..fishes will have really firm meat! Mmm yum yum! I'm like freaking hungry now and after saying all these, I do feel like I'm shooting myself in the feet.

Hoho imagine if it begins to storm..that's it man! We need shields as umbrellas and armour to prevent ourselves from becoming wet and filled with blisters and scratches later on. Come to think of it, bathing would sure become one hell of a chore. Buildings would begin to corrode real quickly and paint will begin to scrape off from buildings so quickly. When it rains heavily, leaves and beautiful flowers will be ripped off and they will begin to look really horrible. I think the bark on the trees will still stay though..those are really hardy! :) hmmm on a brighter note, buildings will also seem cleaner since the "washing" are more effective, whether is it the weather helping to wash it, or cleaners doing their job :)

Okay I feel like sleeping now. Zzz it's barely even 7:30 in the night.

What exactly is success? It is something subjective afterall, only the individual himself can choose what success is to be like. One thing that is for sure is that success is the extent of the accomplishment of something that we aim to achieve. Wealth on the other hand is simply, money. assets. But..whats marks a great society? Lets talk about Singapore. :)

Singapore has no doubt the ability to create wealth--quickly. However, does that make us a great society?

In my opinion, the mark of a great society does not lie entirely on the creation of wealth, but definitely the latter plays a much bigger role as the deciding factor as compared to the sharing of success.

The sharing of success indeed goes to show the willingness of sharing of "good things" with people however is this the right way to go to make the society great? i say no. This causes complacency to arise. The "less successful" people see this as an easy way out. Having a population split into two doesnt really sound that good to me, how about you? One side works like a warmonger trying to savage as much wealth and success as possible while the other side seats there with buckets of popcorn in hand and waits for the "success methods" to come falling onto their feet. Such a move causes widespread unhappiness in the society, grinding it to a halt. no one wants to be that 300 to sacrifice their lives.

The mark of society is more of its ability to create wealth, trying to make use of whatever resources the have, whether is it the rich and powerful in the society employing the others in society or the exploitation of resources, these are what makes up a great society. A great society is constructed, it is not given. People have to work for it, and by the basic human survival instinct to survive, the society will be in a rat race. Only the fittest will survive hence pushing the people in the society to innovate, to create, to inspire.

Hmmm this is probably gonna be my second last post for the general elections in singapore! the last one would be about what i think of the results.. ah im watching the results 'live'..it started at 9.30pm but..the actual results are gonna be out only by 11pm?! SUPER LATE. now they are just reporting information that we already know..not much of use, so i decided to use the time to blog instead! gotta get back to my pile of homework lata~

in my opinion, i really hope PAP gets to win as many GRCs and SMCs as possible, especially Marine Parade GRC! my house is near there..no not that, but rather because Nicole Seah is there :P i find her to have too much fluff in her speech with little content and that she seems too fake. sorry to the Nicole Seah supporters but thats IMO. someone needs to burst her bubble. I would definitely love it to be a really close fight though! like 40-50+% of the votes for either side so thats definitely gonna add pressure on the elected peeps to do more for the people so as to raise confidence! well that would be fun!

Its really nice watching people cheering on for whichever political party they support at the various stadiums over the TV, but i will definitely not want to go down to there just to soak in the atmosphere. :) i prefer to stay at home and let the reporters bring me around! so yup yup im at home facing 2 screens. the computer and the TV.

they actually have a "scoresheet" in the Straits Times Newspaper :P kewl.. ah but im not gonna want it! This time, the elections is definitely one fun one to follow. What a pity Tanjong Pagar GRC is not being contested because the opposition filed in their applications "seconds too late". i wonder if they did it on purpose. hehe. if not all seats are actually being contested :) sweet. what a pity, what a pity!

i actually wanted to upload a photo of a birdnest that was spotted hanging off one of the handball goalposts in my school..hehe but my laziness overcame that decision!

life is tiring! studying is tiring, it is boring and it is sickening when you keep studying and practicing but you either still dont get it or it just gets lost in that vast sea of knowledge in your head. Everything just becomes one HUGE aquarium. or ocean. anyway... school is pretty..uhhhhh..alright! i think..still managing but come to think of it, there isnt much time left before the A levels. its a wonder i am still able to remain so relaxed. not that my studies is good or whatsoever.

I so miss scouts... :( those awesome times that we had together, whether was it hiking for camping or getting scolded, everyone really had fun together and rode through thick and thin together. I so want to go camping and treking!

is there anyway where i can upload photos on-the-go and put them in my blog on-the-go too? O.o
once again, i injured my legs and knees after continuous practice of standing broad jump and running for long distances.. how i wish my legs could last sooo much longer. not that they are gone! but.. i just wish i can feel no pain no matter how intensive the training may be.

This year, the opposition in Singapore sure do have a really good line up! um not THAT good, but at least heaploads better than 4years ago. This year, we have also seen 2 really young candidates take on the fire from the media, Nicole Seah and Tin Pei Ling. posted a short post on TPL already..but i wont post one about nicole because i seriously cant be bothered to.

My view on her? She is sure is a down-to-mars candidate. Sure sounds really firm in whatever she says! but all that appears in front me, is fluff. In her rally speech, she keeps asking the people, "whose money are they using?! your money!" (like duhhhh) and like sriously.. politicians get their salary from the taxation of the people.. Name me a government who doesnt do that. The fact is that the people are given the avenue to voice their opinions-in a "constructive" manner in today's society. And the voting of her in would gurantee a larger voice of the people..? i see no logic in that. Moreover, when she is voted in, there are surely agendas that the opposition would want to push, henceforth raising the possibility of the neglecting of the people. Ultimately, does the opposition really ahev the resources to effectively sustain the policies that they want to introduce? such as minimum wage and the provision of housing at base cost? In my opinion, the opposition just seems to be shooting down the government's policies, just for the sake of doing so, instead of seriously considering and targeting the logic that is behind those policies. All they have done is come up with some reasons on why the policies are ineffective, give lame examples of individuals who suffer from those policies then introduce their counter policy. on the brighter side, they do have the PEEL structure! :D

Anyway, in this highly competitive world we live in today, and given that Singapore is an export driven economy, i will not take any chances in giving the opposition a chance to lead the country, knowing that they do not have the resources to sustain those haphazard policies of theirs. The creation of minimum wage would definitely lead to high unemployment and even possibly a drop in productivity as complacency arises within the workforce. If they change housing prices to be sold at base cost price, then what you will end up with is everyone flocking over and settling down in Singapore, which includes foreign workers and talents. Housing development blocks will be built at the towering heights of those above 50 storeys...? clearly there would be overcrowding. Doesnt this just go to show how illogical the opposition can be? if you want to tear down other people's policies and gain the support of the people, then explain it in a logical manner. not in some shit manner like "i represent the people's voice!"

With the strengthening of the lefts in todays society, schizocracy may seem detrimental to the country as a whole, but at least their fight against the government sends the normative signal of the increasing importance of the government's accountability to the people. This in turn puts constant pressure on the government to continue to fufill its role to the people as well as to be the moral compass. As the leaders of the country, they are the ones with the hindsight all thanks to the amount of "advisors" that they have.

In any case, politics sure has become an entertainment spectacle, with an increasing number of people voting for the politicians whom they think are the most entertaining and those who can "click" with the people best. Instead of the politicians who can create real policies that can bring about real benefits to real people, what people might be voting for are politicians who bring in policies that sounds good, looks good but are neither feasible nor sustainable. People out there, im not trying to convince you to vote for the government or the opposition, but rather, know the rationale of the general elections and vote for those whom you think can deliver their promises.

Vote for the politicians who can maintain or improve singapore's competitiveness :)

In the defence against income inequality that the opposition keeps banking on, doesnt that also mean that it is better to revert back to the old days, say two decades ago? assuming that technology remains the same. or ceteris paribus. only income changes. during that time, our income gap is reeeeealy teeeny weeeny, but i would rather not revert back. let me tell ya why. Every policy has its downsides and upsides, nothing is perfect, give and take. Yes there is a widening income gap, no doubt, its bound to happen as the more capable are usually the richer ones and they are able to remain competitive in the barbaric world economy. However, have you ever considered the LEVEL of income that our country is able to enjoy? We may have a widening income gap however, we are able to enjoy higher incomes as well as a stronger currency. We are now able to afford more items, increase consumption so much more than ever. Within the first two quarters of 2010, Singapore's real GDP rose to an approximate of 20%. 1990, real GDP=66,778million
2010, real GDP=309,400million
Our income increased, in fact the number increased fivefold. Then now you may question that i am not comparing by the rates of growth. Singapore is one of the fastest growing economies. case in point, world economic forum: global competitiveness index 2009, Singapore ranked 3 out of 133 countries. The opposition prefers the old times of smaller income gap? i dont know. but i what i know, is that i prefer our current situation that we live in today, having effectively six times the amount of salary we once had.

i just dont buy the entertaintment tactics by the opposition, i believe in the implementation of good and sound policies, thats why i am going with PAP.

Such a wet NAPFA

Like FINALLY we are actually done with NAPFA! As in the guys are done with the one-shot-all-stations test. So now we can finally retest each station individually. It's funny how almost every single guy prayed that it would rain yesterday, but prayed for the opposite just before NAPFA! Lemme tell ya about it ;)

We wanted it to rain so badly, because it really sucks to do all the 5 stations first before running that dreaded 2.4km run. so...if it rains, we would probably have to do 5 stations on the day itself and the 2.4km run on ANOTHER DAY! but..just before we started NAPFA, MR Kwok said that once we start it, we gotta finish it all the way till the end. if not, we gotta retake the ENTIRE test all over again! NOT GOOD. so in the end, everyone was like hoping it wouldnt rain! :P even i was like OH GOD. DONT RAINNN. ended up it poured pretty heavily..T.T we started around 5? finished all the components by 5.30. waited for the rain to subside from for about a good 30 mins, before we actually started the run. the weather after that was so good for running! the rain clouds didnt clear right away, and it wasnt THAT windy till you felt as though you are not running forward.

zzz sadly i blew my chance in 2.4 T.T phailed it! never like to run! argh! i totally suck at long distance running.

Rescued a small birdy!

I expected today to be just like any other saturday but i was wrong. :) wrong for a good reason! went for piano lesson early in the morning and guess what! my teacher told me that there was this bird that was stuck in the airwell for 3 days and the other birds cant seem to find a way to rescue it. uh by the way an airwell is like an enclosed area..with concrete walls all the way.. it was about 4 storey high.

then i thought if i could help :) but another feeling struck me right away at that instance. it was a "why should i care?" feeling. haha anywayyy later on i decided to save the small bird, it was a mynah. :) a baby one so it was like so terrified when it saw me -.- so i ran in circles round the darn airwell trying to catch it..FINALLY, i caught the bird! =D climbing out of the airwell was another tough feat -.- especially with the bird in my hands.

it was a fun experience anyway. :) hits me off this mundane life of mine!

Today is good friday! but man it definitely feels just like saturday! just less hectic. I usually spend saturdays rushing around..today was the contrary :) and...

i FREAKING WOKE UP AT 9AM!!!

thats a privilege. During the school hols, i used to sleep till 11am. im such a pig! but anyway all thanks to the big A levels looming over this pathetic life of mine, i am faced with insufficient sleep whilst being overworked. not to mention, im not even paid! still, school is great :) seriously! its fun!

lemme tell you how i spent my good friday :)
1. morning breakfast at Chinatown! had the awesome porridge as usual :D still best i've ever had!
2. erm do some unproductive work x.x

teachers gave quite a bit of homework..looks like good friday isnt that good afterall! anyway, come to think of it, we have like 3 long weekends in a row. next monday is labour day, so no school! then the following monday is elections so..another day off!

well...i watch youtube videos all the time..which probably explains my fluctuating grades x.x even though i come across lots and lots of videos, i seldom subscribe to any youtuber :) cuz like seriously i do not see the point in doing so! unless he/she really posts up some really funny and entertaining videos, then yes imma click that yellow SUBSCRIBE button! so since 2 days ago, i have been watching videos from this user, communitychannel. and she uploads GOOD videos! xD yayyyyy! better still she uploads like once every 3-4 days. awesomeness~ the minute i clicked on her videos, i got hooked onto them, one by one.

At first, i used to just click the "related videos" :P lazy much but now, i just go to her profile and watch directly! she's really good, in my opinion i prefer her soooo much more than nigahiga. He used to be like my top favourite~! now, its communitychannel. you gotta watch it :) I dont know, but for me, im lovin' it!

today, is a saturday. and i went to school. about 45minute car ride to school for a 15minute talk with my Civics tutor (form teacher), Mrs Tan and the HOD of General Paper, Mr Ivan Lim. I'll just use Mr Lim for this post :) well....viewed from different angles, this doesnt look worth it at all. im telling ya it was :) well sort of..

I got 2 U grades for my H2 subjects, which wasnt that good. or rather just bad. but anyway! i passed the rest, with GP always hitting 86 percentile. super proud of that! but the rest are just normal~ thats the reason why i saw my HOD.

LUCKILY IT WAS MR LIM and not Mr Chu, the HOD of econs department xD he would have just shot me down all the way or something. anyway anyhow its bound to have negative annotation, which many of us students hate :) Mr Lim was AWESOME. the comments that he gave subjectively by looking at my teachers' comments were impressive! Frankly speaking i wasnt even looking forward to seeing Mrs Tan cuz she kinda shows favouritism, something that i hate. (since she only likes 3 students in the class.) im..."the rest". plus i didnt do well in chemistry..so she would surely shoot me down with sharp comments x.x *dislike!*

I dont really like chemistry for now because i seriously hate all the memorising! T.T i believe in the understanding and application of concepts. yes we do have em for H2 chem but not for the current J2 topics..so that sucks. for me. plus the idea of favouritism, i sure do not like chem lectures! lessons are fun though :) because Mrs Tan really does have the passion for teaching us chemistry.

Economics..the tutor, in my opinion is too stern in teaching..what happened to learning the fun way? o.o so...i do feel a little "uncomfortable" during her lessons.. it used to be fun in J1 :) but now, she has changed.

Yeah! you might have guessed :) chemistry and economics are the two subjects i failed :) i passed H2 math, H1 physics and H1 general paper. Mr Lim said i had a personal bias against chemistry and economics. such a strong biasness that even though i love these two subjects, i am totally not doing well in them. so he says its a really serious case. and i do agree with him. ;)

Since the class doesnt really like Mrs Tan, plus now given that she has given negative comments for nearly every single student in our class, i seriously do wonder how monday is gonna be like. o.o it seems that the resentment against this good but blunt chemistry tutor, Mrs Tan by our class is worsening. In my case, Mrs Tan got the wrong idea that i think that her teachings sucks. Oh great. GG!

It felt like ages since i last blogged! well i have been, unfortunately, SUPER BUSY with my life! like seriously so busy, i have no time to even practice piano daily.. Last year was seriously too slack. they should like cover more stuff in JC1 rather than leave all the shit for JC2! Slogging through JC2 now~ you know what i feel like doing? i feel like 1.play nerf! 2.play archery! 3. play paintball! SHOOT SOMETHINGGG.

im like syncing my itouch with my computer now and guess what! all the photo albums that i have, the latest ones have a "2010" behind. NONE have a 2011. wow. thats sad! its already april?! one third of the year has already been gone but yet, still no photos. and i think i will probably have a photo album with a "2011" after my darn A levels. Life is cruel :) but hell yeah im making the most out of it! erm..exception for the results of my common test xD i think my results are horrific. o.o

oh and like FINALLY, my itouch is syncing with my computer :) had to reboot the applemobiledevice program. and cityville is like spamming my facebook wall! all thanks to all the posts..hmm facebook should so have a separate wall for facebook games :) this way we do not see our "wall" being plastered with games about mafia wars and stuffs..

Hmmm i seriously want to buy a nerf stampede! :D shoot all around the house, just rain the place with darts non stop~ now i just have a modded longshot that can shoot real far and real strong, but it takes a load of energy to prime the blaster o.o looking for a nice and durable handle or knob to buy and then imma epoxy it down~ but since the rate of fire really sucks, i think i might very well devote my time to a stampede instead~ a much better blaster for CQB, longshot is for sniping..

i want vinyl dye! :( singapore doesnt have it.. tsk!

The attacks on Tin Pei Ling are of course unwarranted, especially those directed at her personal life. But before we go being all self-righteous and condemn these attacks, lets pause.

The attacks are just simply what people have learned, really. For the longest time, it is Tin Pei Ling’s party – and one old man in particular – which had been merciless in tearing the skin off its opponents. Some had their lives utterly destroyed – such as Chia Thye Poh. Over the last two decades or so, vicious and crippling defamation suits were launched and won against its opponents, again crippling and incapacitating these.

So, here now is Tin Pei Ling. In a cyber world age, she as a public figure now, has been stripped naked. Every inch of her is being inspected with a fine tooth comb. The pack is out for the hunt and they are looking for blood. And in some ways, they have found it.

Some are beginning to find this sort of behaviour distasteful and are publicly condemning it and distancing themselves from it.

I find this rather strange, to be honest. Were we expecting that there would not be such behaviour – at this first truly Internet election? Are we who are in Singapore so deep within our own well that we are surprised by this sort of behaviour? In the words of one old man, grow up.

If you teach a people how to behave, and coerce them, frighten them and show them examples of what would happen if they do not behave as told, then you must accept that this people would learn your ways.

And this is what is happening with Tin Pei Ling – the people have learned from the PAP. And yes, it is distasteful. It is unwarranted. But to lay the blame on the people alone is just plain missing the point, isn’t it?

But of course some of us ask for higher ideals, a more “mature” set of behaviours. And some of us will behave such – mature, rational, etc. But to expect that everyone will do the same would be to expect a fairytale world.

While I disagree with the behaviour of some in their attacks on Tin Pei Ling, I do – at the same time – feel that the bigger point is this:

This saga shows that we need to put a stop to a Govt which runs such a system which today has resulted in a pack of wolves going so mercilessly after a young woman.

This pack of wolves have learnt from their master.
You may shoot the wolves – but really, it is the master which is calling the shots and setting the example.

As long as the PAP is in power and continues to be in power, Singaporeans will always behave in the lowest, most base manner.
After all, isn’t that how the PAP itself behaves?
Why then do we expect others to be any different?

Some say this is not how they want Singapore politics to be. Too bad, I’d say. It is how it is and it will continue to be how it is – until those leaders at the top set a new example, a new humaneness.

It is easy to feel sorry for a young woman under attack. But do spare a thought for at least one other who spent 32 years behind bars for no other reason than that he disagreed with one other old man.
One cruel deed begets another.
And the old man and his cronies have committed many.
But as for Tin Pei Ling, and those of you who feel sorry for her, perhaps you can take comfort in how all this will pan out – described so succintly by Martyn See:

“I think it is okay to make fun of Tin Pei Ling. If we are a properly functioning democracy, she would’ve been torn asunder by comedians and caricaturists. But alas, we are not. In the end, she will stroll into her MP office, with make-up and handbags intact, and she’ll look back on this week as being the most trying period of her political career, and then she’ll have the last laugh, at your expense.”
And, my friends, there is not a damn thing you can do about this.
This is how perverted the system has become – where the fluff rises to the highest places.
And perhaps this also explains the vitriolic attacks on Tin Pei Ling.
If you still don’t understand, your well must be pretty deep.

Anyways, Tin Pei Ling will be getting S$15,000 of taxpayers’ money a month. That is almost S$1 million for her 5-year term.
Not bad – for someone who probably will not need to go through an election, hanging as she would onto the coattails of someone more senior.
Yeah, she will be having the last laugh – handbag and all.
So, chill.

If only the Singapore parliamentary debates can be similar to that of the United Kingdom. So heated, so lively!

Its blindingly obvious that the general elections are going to be in the month of May and the PAP has been revealing some new faces. one such candidate who is creating a really big buzz, is 27 year old, Tin Pei Ling. Creating a big buzz as she is a really young candidate to be fielded in a single member constituency as well as because of the lavish lifestyle she leads. Then the question arises.

Should we access a candidate based on his/her personal life?

Frankly speaking before i move on into my justification, i dont see the point in bringing in the idea of the destroying of the lives of others who are against the "one old man in particular" as mentioned in the article above. Face it, this IS politics and the very idea of tearing down your opponents is the reason of ensuring your survival in the political realm in any country. PAP has tremendous power similar to a monopoly in the ruling of Singapore, thats a fact--for now. Whether it will change in the future, its all up to the ability of the opposition parties. The opposition seem to have a better line-up this elections! lets see if it translates to the gaining of more power.

People think that Tin Pei Ling is too young to be a candidate. Then as such, may i pose the question, why is it so that she can be chosen to run for a SMC? why is it so that out of so many members in the PAP, she is chosen by the prime minister to run in a SMC and not in a GRC? My answer to that, her capability. To be able to prove to be better than the rest (of which the majority is older) and garner the much needed trust by the PM that she is able to lead is a feat. Whether its a mistake that she got chosen, there is no point arguing over that. Its either a yes or a no. It will make the argument sound really stupid if people are just going to argue, "oh thats a mistake!", "no it isnt!", "yes it is!", "no it isnt!", "yes it is!". Rather, look at what she has done so far.

Moreover, some claim that she got the position by "backdoor means". i STRONGLY do not believe in this excuse as primarily, it is detrimental to the integrity of the Prime Minister. So obviously he won't be placing her in the SMC if she got through. How about a place in a GRC instead.. Even if thats the case, assuming she got in the SMC by such underhand methods, doesn't this also goes to show her ability to effectively walk up the political ladder rather than work up the ladder? so hey! We do have a really smart candidate who really knows how to negotiate! And what do politicians need to be good in? Negotiating! Look on the brighter side, our education has indeed proven to be so successful in terms of equipping teenagers with such good analytical skills! on a serious note, her success is also partially because of the quality of the education that she was provided with, henceforth propelling her so far front. I wont be surprised if more of such young candidates start popping up in the future~

A politician needs to come up with a concrete plan and her idea to break forth into the internet proves to be beneficial to the political realm as a whole. It is a win-win situation. She gets to reach out to the masses, people also do have the avenue to freely voice their concerns (not EXACTLY FREELY but oh well, its singapore.) and as such critically analyse who really is the best candidate.

Thats my take on the current situation.

Back to the question,

Should we access a candidate based on his/her personal life?

Here's my stand on the issue. We should not base a candidate on his/her personal life. Its super short because i wanna sleep already!

When it comes down to politics, what people want is the person who knows whats best for the people. Just how competent is the particular politician? (veering off topic) In my point of view, the competency of a person is not based on his age. Yes, age plays a role in the sense whereby older people tend to have more experience. However, in the case of Mrs Tin, what you have is the youthfulness in exchange of experience. Moreover, experience can be built up and ironically, this experience is harnessed as the politician works on the ground. Extrapolate that to a few years down the road and compare it with other incumbent MPs.Take minister Matthias Yao for example. He is 57 years old and has announced that he is stepping down as MP for Macpherson SMC. When Mrs Tin reaches that age, imagine the years of valuable experience she would have, it will overtake Matthias Yao.

A politician is seen as one of the leaders in the country, a public figure. As such, people conceive the idea that politicians like Mrs Tin should not be living a lavish lifestyle. Seriously, i think that is bs. It is of fundamental human rights that every single person has the right to choose on how exactly does he want to live his life. Moreover, i do not see how does the a lavish lifestyle impede the politician in anyway. Even if the lifestyle that the politician is living in proves to have a negative impact on the decisions that the politicians make, the politician still has every right to lead his way of life. Thats freedom of choice for you. However, if the candidate has been proven guilty that he has broken the law, then yes go ahead, punish him accordingly. Strip him off his leadership position.

Oops im feeling tired. Imma stop here! argh! oh might as well just end it off. Only time will tell. She has proven to the PM that she is capable. Now is the time for her to prove to the people that she is able to withstand criticisms from the public and build on the people's trusts. I do have faith in her that she can succeed :) not that im biased towards the PAP, but rather based on her abilities and feasible yet sustainable ideas, i think she would be accepted by the people--hopefully. lololol. anyway, who in the world likes to step out of his comfort zone eh? people are usually resistant to change and this is surely one huge change :)

Time will tell.

I'm blogging through Zamiq's Apad! (zamiq edited this part) its just a CHINA IPAD. It actually has an external keyboard and the best part? It works! :D i okay I'm taking a really long time blogging through this but it so beats blogging through my xperia. I just spilled vanilla ice cream on my phone -.- how retarded is that?! Waiting for debates to start, plus JJC would be coming over to have a friendly against us :)

Got back all my Common test results and they were disappointing! I kinda expected worse? But oh well its bad enough -.- even for GP, I wasn't satisfied with my results. Teacher said I had no problem with content, essay is perfectly fine, but because I tried doing like the "thesis,anti-thesis,counter-thesis" method, I kinda got the paragraphs pretty convulated. :P i wrote only three body paragraphs, my norm is usually five.. but in the end it still ended up just the same length!content wise he said it was gooooooood. so imma improve on the new structure im trying out and i shall keep the style of my conclusion! he said he totally lurves it :P but seriously, i think i can STILL DO BETTER...

ZAMIQ IS COMPLAINING THAT I HAVE NO LIFE JUST BECAUSE IM BLOGGING. HE'S JEALOUS.

I have yet to blog for this weekend, cuz I have been really busy with debates! Weekends was taken up by *takes a deep breath* National Technological University-Dorothy Cheung debates competition. Super long name! But anyway, high schools, JCs and universities were there to debate. Frankly speaking, I so much prefer to debate in SCWO held in SMU. No idea why. Bah at least this gives us great exposure! Now there is only the SMU Hammers debate competition and the MOE invitationals. After that, we would be stepping down for the sake of darn A levels!

My team was PJC B, which consisted of Zamiq, Li-jen and I! Ita a hybrid team, li-jen is a j1.The competition was more of a warm up for us, to prepare for SMU Hammers :) even though li-jen on my team will change to one of my friends :) We had like three rounds on saturday, one on Sunday so it was a pretty nice pace as compared to SCWO-SMU which had like five rounds in day one. Yesterday was really nice! Here is the list of match ups that we got.

Round1: Oxbridge (they are the coaches of VJC)
Round2: PJC D (thats another team from my school)
Round3: TJC B (a team of J1s I think. Sent by temasek JC)
Round4: SP B (from Singapore polytechnic)

Round 1 was really fun, even though it was tough! We lost though but we were up against the VJC coaches! lol last time we fought against VJC was in the International Humanitarian Debates and we lost xD

Round 2 was...more of a fun debate than a serious one? :P

round 3 was erm. we most likely won on a big margin since the TJC team was fighting for our case..so we were opposition, and so were they. they are J1s, totally new to debates. but i think they really did a good job! seriously the motion was about law and the election of justices, so it was pretty tough for them. funny thing was they chose the motion o.o

round 4 was crap. we clearly won the case, but still we lost. Primarily because the adjudicator entered the debate. If thats the case, there wasnt a point in debating for this round, we would have gladly skipped today's session! today was just purely round 4 for us since we knew there was no way we could break into the semi quarters. at the end of the debate when we rationalised with her ideas and cleared the misconceptions that she had over our case, there was a BIG load of misconceptions and she started bringing in things that we never mentioned in the first place. She reported us to the judges for verbally harassing her. I dont know, maybe it could be our tone during the heat of the debate. Funny thing is we always do the same thing after every motion to ask exactly what went wrong in the same manner as well as give full respect to the adjudicator. Frankly speaking, in every competition we went to and every match we participate in, this is the first time we actually got such a feedback. the past is the past, its over. lets move on!

Tug of war! yeah!

wohoo! i cant believe i am still typing this despite my middle finger hurting! okay i seriously CANNOT write anything in proper now, finger just hurts too badly. im still wondering how am i gonna be prepping for the deabtes competition, NTU DCs this coming weekend which is..2 frikken days away! no way the condition of my fingers can improve so quickly! i kinda put the photo of my injured finger quite far down in this blog post.. lemme talk about the Tug of War game we had today! =D

like FINALLY something really interesting that we can do in school today! i was gyming on tues, and i saw Mr Kwok's class playing tug of war! so...since he is out PE teacher too, usually he does the same things with my class :) Ah my God. my back is killing me! x.x i went to gym again for the second time this week!
2x(gym)+1x(tug-of-war)=aches everywhere!

so...after math lecture which was about 9am, we had PE!!! ;D and we found out that we were up against 10S23! and they had 10 guys! while we had 5 guys! wohoo! GG. ANYWAY agreement was 5boys and 5girls from each class. so for our class, the number of ways that the guys can be chosen can be calculated using the math formula, 5choose5 which is....1! ONE WAY! so all of us have to pull throughout the 5rounds. only 6 girls came..so yeah only 1 person got to rest..

The game is like this. whichever class loses the round, they have to run 400m, excluding those who pulled. but! if the overall score is like 3-2 then the losing class has to run 3 rounds! this one, everyone in the class has to run! hahahahah at first the guys were like *sigh* no hope!! "mr kwok, can we run?"

i was standing right in front :D best view! but also toughest position x.x funny thing is...our class won all 5 rounds! :D total humiliation to 10S22! not to mention, the last round was 10guys from s22 vs 5guys+6girls from s13(my class) and we still won! :D seriously i thought that round we were going to lose xP ended up because of our teamwork, we won! seriously we nearly lost the round, but later as the whole class cooperated together, it made such a whole BIG difference! tug of war isnt just about pure strength and weight, its about TEAMWORK too! strategise to win!

lemme tell ya how i got my injury.. i was standing right in front, so the first hand of the entire team was my left hand. sooooo it was the one that got injured in the midst of pulling. erm i dont exactly know how it was caused? but all i know is that portions of my skin was being ripped off! o.o hahahaha as the rounds increased, more layers came out! xD soon it was just bare. as usual..blood and pass started flowing out -.- zzz *puts a huge plaster* the conventional ones were too small..

here is the pic below! anyway in the afternoon after school, i went for my second gym session for this week! thankfully when it ended, Mr Kwok being a super kind teacher offered to nurse my wound for me! he sprayed some kinda liquid onto the open wound, feels like deep heat =.= but its not. it creates this thin, waterproof layer of film over the wound to let it recover! pretty cool! :D but it sure was painful when it was sprayed on! my finger just went numb when he sprayed.

after drying the wound :D before Mr kwok helped me out with it!

Mr Kwok still remains as one of the teachers that i respect most in the school and man do i find him so inspirational and helpful! hahaha he cracks lame jokes too xD but the class still find the jokes funny anyway! truly one of the best teachers in PJC. :) he also helped me out when i retained. last time he was my rugby coach. now, he is my awesome PE teacher! PE tml again! this time, physical training! hope i dont fall apart halfway! :)

today indeed has been a GOOD day! love Tug of War! expecially if my group wins xD 10S13 working as a class once again! just like in orientation =D TEAMWORK!

1st gym session in 2 weeks!

Woot It feels as though I have yet to blog for eternity! Blogging in school during assembly.hah! Its some suggestion and feedback session. Lols its supposed to be on the academic aspect but everyone is asking about other topics :P Well school has started and we are getting back our common test results. And mourning over them. Argh! Math is like my nemesis! No matter what topics are tested, Im always stuck at 54 marks! So pathetic and it just doesnt seem to go up T.T one more mark to a C grade..tsk tsk! Even more exasperated zzz! Need to work harder..need to work harder.. Argh argh!

ANYWAYYYY, yesterday was the first time I gymed since the common tests started! All the weights suddenly seemed so much heavier! Even though I used the same free weights..felt like so worn out! Maybe its because of the run before that o.o jie yong, my classmate joined me! We ran before gyming. Gotta so prepare for darn NS..zzz! So not looking forward to NS. Have yet to set a date for the physical test o.o dont know why I kept feeling so thirsty while working out yesterday. Probably a shortage of water in my body >.< its okayyyy tomorrow gyming again! Im like so gonna tire myself out. There is physical training for pe tml morning (heee I heard we are playing tug of war :D yeah! I lurrrrrve it!! Must own the other class!) okay back to topic..then after school I have gyming session, then Friday, I have physical training for pe again! :D surely gonna be SUPER worn out!

Blogging on the go as usual! Seems like thats the only time I have to blog xD anywayyyy my common tests are finally overrr!! :D chemistry h2 paper wasnt good x.x pretty tough! Thats because I have been focusing on organic chemistry and like a whopping 90% of the freaking paper was on nitrogen compounds (a teeny winnie bit of organic compounds), periodicity group II and reaction kinetics like wtheck! If only teacher dropped some hints T.T its all of this years topics and like none of last year's!

I so wanna wanna watch world invasion battle LA! It looks like hardcore action film! Zzz no one seems to be able to watch it today since most of the classes are still having their common tests..heee my class is a hybrid combi so we end earlier! :D muahahahaha! Hmmm maybe I should go ask some people out for movie! Finally I get to take a much needed rest >.< studying all the way can get tiring at times! Bah physics paper wasnt easy x.x Mr Tan, our physics teacher cheated our feelings! He saidcertain types of questions would appear but they didnt!! Oh well physics is my worst subject ever since secondary 3 T.T luckily I took it as a h1 subject and not as a h2 :P pheeew! anyway I still have 3 more papers and they are all of the major ones. H2 subs, chemistry economics and math. Imma work harder for the rest!

hows my new itouch4 going!

I posted a mobile upload of my new itouch4 which was from my mum again! My 2nd gen itouch revived! But its a little cranky.. And the volume buttons at the side just wouldnt work. Wait till you see the back of it! Its battered with scratches and holes o.o the backing gets scratched very easily..so I actually thought of whipping out my clear coating for my plastic models and spray onto the 4th gen! But I have yet to do so. Ah back toy.second gen itouch. Yes I said there were holes on the backcover! I dropped it on the road before? So thats how the holes came about. Mini ones butthey actually penetrated the cover o.o itouch got laggy too.. So it called for a change! Its been 4 days since I got my new itouch! Like seriously I cant believe that its just 4 days xD feels like weeks! Maybe its because I synced whatever there was in the 2nd gen into the 4th gen lols.

Here are some photos of the unboxing! Anyway it was shipped over because mum ordered it over the net instead :P lols that you actually get engraving for the itouch on the back. Ah its only for itouch, not for iphone! Muahahaha thats why you should get itouch and an android phone or blackberry xP best of both worlds! Plus a much longer total battery life :)

Oops lemme get back to the ipod touch. In my opinion, 2nd and 4th gen doesnt have much of a difference other than the slimmer body, camera, better graphics and facetime. :) of all the things, I like the camera function the most! I dont exactly know why it appeals to me, but the camera quality sucks. Lols. Worse than my xperia. So videos and everything will still be used by my xperia! However xperia doesnt have 3g function, thats where itouch comes in real handy indeed.

Overall, I think getting a new gen itouch is sooo much more worth it than repairing the 2nd gen since Im only paying $100 bucks more! It costs about $400, while a second gen itouch costs $300 to repair since its like freakin rare o.o oh by the way, a first gen itouch costs $500 bucks to repair! xD

I was browsing through DeviantArt for really nice artworks, because they seriously have very nice artworks there are some artworks which are done by amateurs too and its always nice to take a browse for new wallpapers!

one thing that suprised me, was when the i noticed the background of these photos..i have no idea why but most of the time when i see a photo of singapore, the first word that comes to mind is "humid". No idea why...ANYWAY let me get on with the photos :)

Okay some background info for those peeps who don't watch Macross Frontier. btw, its an anime T.T THOSE WHO KNOWS MACROSS CAN HAPPILY SKIP THIS ENTIRE PARA!
erm its basically an anime that is sort of like a crossover between gundam, and transformers. basically its juse planes transforming to "gundams". Its based on the future, whereby mankind decides to build HUGE spaceships that can house and sustain colonies. However they are constantly under attack by aliens so thus the need of these soldiers piloting the planes :)not to forget, everything is in the future..
Then the story's main characters are as follows.
1. Alto (blue haired GUY who looks like a girl) hes a pilot.
2. Sheryl Nome (singer with blonde hair)Shes a reknowned singer.
3. Ranka Lee (Green-haired short girl) um..lucky girl-next-door who can sing!
4. about half a dozen more but im too lazy to list em all down.

Japan's Earthquake

Obviously nearly every single person have heard of the "worst disaster since World War II " in Japan. As quoted from Japan's Prime Minister, Naoto Kan. My heartfelt condolences goes out to those affected..oh man of all places Japan :( the place that I really love to go for holidays and admire in terms of discipline. The damage is just so real as I watch videos and news reports all about it. In Singapore, the earthquake incident took up the ENTIRE news air time. Thats how important Japan is to Singapore. Now the earthquake is gone and the tsunami has already subsided, but there are still much trouble to be solved. Such as the potential nuclear plant meltdown in fukushima prefecture as well as the restoration efforts. Not to mention the 70% percent chance of another earthquake striking Japan again really soon :/ I applaud the stoicness of the Japanese people in the fàce of such destruction, they are so cam and are so ready to begin restoration efforts! Not to mention restoration efforts have already begun! :) such a systematic way of solving the problems at hand!
Also, aid from various countries have been streaming in really quickly!

Today, the news just covered the Japan crisis as usual..this time minister George Yeo commented on the crisis whilst doing his walkabouts for elections. Bro made this comment: people in Japan are dying and yet the news is showing elections. Like who in Singapore cares abou elections now when Japan is like that? In my opinion, I think minister George Yeo should be more worried about the loss of human lives rather than the economic impact the crisis has on Singapore's economy. Yes everyone knows our economy is going to be impacted by it judging by our dependence on the japanese economy. First impression that came to mind was "does it always have to be in dollar and cents?!" moreover human lives are precious to such an extent no monetary value can be attached to it. Maybe it could have been how the reporter framed the question but nevertheless I think he should have still made mention of relief efforts, just show at least a pinch of concern for those missing or the dead? I think that would definitely help in demonstrating the care that ministers have towards the masses.

Wow even Facebook games like Cityville and pop stars like Lady Gaga are giving a helping hand. China, japan's rival also sent a team or rescuers and Japan accepted it :) Im sure Japan will recover from such a crisis really quickly given the amount of help provided by 80 countries as well as the strong mindset of the people in rebuilding the country. :)
Given the dependency of many countries on Japan and the magnitude of the earthquake, this earthquake would be one that shake not just Japan, but the world.

Bet lots of people would be wondering the same question o.o common test is like so serious till if you fail it you can drop to j1! Moreover, the standard is more like promotional exams standard so... Might as well call it exams! Its really fast that common test has arrived.. Guess the life as a j2 passes real quickly its like study study then cca and gym then the whole week is just poof! Gone! Extremely quick! T.T now even if I want to buy time to study I just cant. Heee now I feel like slacking abit though since its like fridayyyy~ and just done with hellish GP paperrr~ chill chill a lil!

Bah as much as I want to do plastic modelling now, I know I cant. Its just wayyy out of my time. No way can I spare days for it when there is freaking a levels and common test. Come to think of it I still need to grab some lunch before I go home!

Last Sunday, I actually rolled down the stairs in church while serving haaaa it was like vertically tumble down not like horizontally.. If you actually understand what I am saying -_-"' it was like forward fall and not sideways? Think that sounds clearer. I was serving in church and as I was Not used to the jurong west church layout, I walked down the stairs diagonally and backwards. So imissed a step and fell.. its like front forward fall not sideways. Lols. After that, later in the week, I actually injured my leg because I went to gym and run without any warm ups! (clearly looking for trouble) so thats how my legs got really injured this week! >.<

Its the holidays now.. If I even have any all thanks to the common tests zzz! Anywayyi should be spending most of my time studying, not so much walking around, dont think I will fall so many times :)

Last night, my itouch revived! Mum took it off the charger and apparently it didnt die..before that, my itouch could.only survive if there is a charger connected to it. If the charger is off, then it will just black out on the spot. Weird eh? Apparently I didnt fiddle with it or whatsoever, it just suddenly was able to survive without the charger connected to it. O.o

Grah all the records are lost because it got restored.. Probably put in some time-killing apps and I gotta redo my schedule! Time to get back on track with tracking my extra activities! At least now I wont forget when all of the activities are and where they are held at :) luckily my music are all still inside! Save me the hassle of syncing everything once again. Come to think of it Im kinda sick of the music in my itouch already. Time to download newer ones! Zzz but there is still common test ahead of me.. Guess I will just have to wait to a later date then..

My computer and handphone cant sync again! Stupid softwares at war with one another or what? So once again.. The photos are stuck in my phone. Facebook should so allow us to retrieve the html codings of the albums! Then can link link :)

Zzz like 90% of the words that come out of my parents' mouths are words used to complain. Like seriously irritating and pissing me off! Complain, studies, complain, studies. No life. Like seriously I wonder what joy there is in such a life! I would rather live a happy and carefree life. :) just need a piano, teach people piano and probably do plastic modelling during my free time!

A level results are out!

Omggg so stressful! I didnt take any results today, since I already took my Chinese and pw results last year.. And I am sitting for the big A this year. But Im still super stressed out! Asked some of my friends and they got like Cs, Ds and Es.. Omg I so do not want to get the same kind of results.. Okay time to panic and start worrying! T.T

I dont know why even though I know I got to work harder, I just dont seem to have that drive like what I had when I was making a desperate attempt to score in O levels. Argh! Need what inspiration?! Zzz!!

I followed my classmates to take their Chinese results today and they were satisfied with their results! Especially Jordan who was so afraid of failing it..he got a D :) good enough to enter uni!

Today's a Friday, a really slack and relaxed one but yet soo stressful towards the end. Watching people take their results is scary too! This results is what determines our future. Make it or break it. Really hope I make it! Gotta dealt work harder :( I wonder how to when my schedule is already so packed. Still have piano exams zzz.. As though life couldnt get any more stressful!

What I feel like doing now? On the damn computer and start gaming! I seriously need to chill, then I shall go full force on my homework and revision! Ah but mother is at home so I guess I will settling for studying instead since she is probably gonna nag till my ears bleed. Oh I can go play the piano! Just finished learning the song f***ing perfect by P!nk last night! Awesome song! Lol took 2 days to fully finish learning the song. Its like grade 3 standard o.o simple notes!

I should start uploading photos onto Facebook and my blog! Dammit my phone better sync with my com tonight! Upload a couple of albums I think! Some debates photos during the competitions last weekend :)

Huh! Its been storming so heavily these few days! Sometimes I really do wish to have my school flooded to exorbitant levels just so as to see what everyone is going to do! Okay anywayyyy its all thanks to the rain that my itouch is dead! Lemme tell ya the story..

When I take a direct bus from one end of the island, my school, to the other end, which is my house, the distance from the bus stop that I alight to my house is about..300m. I think. And I decided to walk home in the rain. Thats heeee my umbrella is so small and the rain is so heavy. Obviously the umbrella will have no use. So.. I kept my wallet and itouch into one of the compartments and zipped it up! My bag is waterproof so I didnt fear for my dear homework inside. What happen was that I didnt zip up my bag properly, so the rainwater happily "flowed" into my bag! So much for waterproof.. Yup my homework was wet, my itouch was wet and my wallet too. The only things in my bag that is waterproof in my bag is the wallet, stationery and umbrella!

So thats how my itouch died!

I always find myself blogging on the bus! Like seriously is my life so hectic till even blogging on the go seems so tough? J2 the time when you start appreciating those free times you used to have when younger.

Life hasnt really been that kind to me! Well Im thankful for having such great friends in school and in church! But seriously my family life sucks right now and I aint gonna do anything bout it. Previous efforts have proved to be futile, might as well use that time to rest and chill for a while. :)

Debates is so fun!

Bah Im really having loads of fun talking to my fellow debaters and crapping with em all the way as it really helps to relieve stress! Lol kinda weird eh? But yeah I actually find it enjoyable to prep and speak during training sessions. Maybe Im just weird. Okay its raining now and the bus seems to be slogging around but weird enough, comparing with time its dam fast!

This weekend is gonna be pretty rushed.. Friday Im down for mentoring a debate team to SMU and Saturday I have a competition, SRC-UMAS which is on international humanitarian aid and later in the day back to SMU! Hopefully everything goes by smoothly :)

This week has been an odd week.
1. When I gave out GP stuff, it was short of a copy and its not the first time..
2. Econs booklet ir was also one short.

It always happens like as though there is 1 person extra..moreover I double-checked the namelist and counted! There is no way there are 23 ppl in the class! Wonder who is the extra..

It felt like autumn

The world better not end in 2012. Reason being I would have just finished a levels. Truckloads of homework to finish and how I wish my life can be so much easier with photographic memory. I am seriously tired out...

Im back home! And now Im trying to read up more on exchange rates and purchasing power parity. Hmm.. Life has been really sucky if it comes to say homework! And tests. Like seriously the overlapping of schedules need to stop! I have events overlapping this and that, sometimes 3 events overlap! Weird thing is.. They seem to all come at one go! And how I wish these events could come in a year earlier when I was still in J1 and could still sit at the school cafe and eat ice cream.

This is where I got my title from!
While walking home, it felt like it was autumn. Those gigantic trees that provided a warm canopy for my walk home were like dying! Their leaves were all falling off and the wind swept them in circles towards me and then around me. Man it felt sooo relaxing! Not to mention, the afternoon sun was casting down such warm sunshine onto my face! Few cars on the rod, nobody on the pavement, man it felt no where near Singapore. It was only for a few minutes though. Still, it felt like such a relaxed time! :D

Debates just got a new coach! Ah I forgot his name. Oh great. I just met him yesterday. Oops! :x well coaching style is a lot different from our previous coach, Wee Jia, this one seems A LOT stricter alright! Well it isnt fair to compare content now since we just met him, butttttt I think previous coach was better in terms of understanding and content. Seems A lil suffocating sometimes when he speaks, but I think we will all get used to it soon :)

20 new J1s! Surprisingly. Its a huge group, as compared to like the current 14 J2s that are left.. It just seems like its 6 more, but total numbers have doubled. Which..seems tough to coordinate for a start heeee luckily I dont have to~! Lalalalala :P pretty impressive, the new J1s I would say. Didnt expect them to be so ready to learn. (maybe it might die down over time) ah but they do have quite good content sometimes! Really good for a start :) wonder how its gonna.turn out next time! Hà I so wanna speak more though! Its fun!

I still wanna walk down that same path that I took to get home again! Such a good break from this hectic life of mine. Awesomeness!

Lost in NUS Law School

Today didnt feel like today.
it felt more like some other day in the week.
like tuesday or wednesday.
no where near friday.

BUT ANYWAYYYYYY

today was SUPER SUNNY! ME LIKE! (Y) and then SUPER RAINY! okay thats not the point.

The highlight of today was the IBM Centennial Lecture! it was held at NUS Law School, the one at Bukit Timah Campus. Let me talk about the lecture first. :) The speaker was the CEO of IBM and he talked about "ideas that shape the century" and that century being the one that we are in. it was more of a "what we did in the past" vs "what we should do in the future" it was pretty interesting i would say. he brought in a lil wee bit of business models and told us about what technology is today, that it is no longer just about that gadgets in our hands. Technology today has the capability of transformation then he went on and on and on about how it has done so as well as its potential in the future!

A large part of the lecture was also about interconnectivity. in the sense of "big data". Data that is gathered from various aspects of the country, such as water catchments, traffic flow, birth rates, all sorts of data. Use these data, and use a supercomputer to generate the optimal outcome. sounds crazy but oh well. frankly speaking, in what way is it going to be optimal man?

other than PJC, there was also HCI. and no other JCs went. We were the only school students present. o.o even the person sitting next to me was like some big shot. haha! when he came in, he reached into his bag..*takes out a book titled "notes" and when i reached into my bag..*takes out PJC foolscap paper. haha!

when the lecture ended, i decided to go look for Charmaine! little did i know that NUS Law campus was not just BIG, but also like a MAZE. like freakin seriously! i was supposed to meet her at the library by the way. she gave me instructions like turn left, walk straight, turn right that kinda thing. and on my first try, i ended up in the toilet. T.T second try left me walking back and forth around the same corridor. The third try, *gives up!* i asked for directions. and wohoo! found the darn library which didnt look like a library! and just so happen, phone was down to 1% battery life. thanks to Sony Ericsson.

so.... we stood around outside the library and talked! whilst being battered by the rain. and.. i didnt know they had vending machines that sold HOT CANS OF DRINKS?!! so awesome!! damit my school needs one of those. i bet the number of students falling asleep in lecture (which includes me) would decrease!

haha upon parting, Charmaine showed me a spot where i could look at that huge tree! just look at the photo below and you will know which tree. bah phone camera quality wasnt that good though. did it with polaroid settings.
the security guard then later came by and asked me
"hey are you schooling here?"
"uh yes? (but later remembers its NUS not PJC) oh wait no."
"um you cant take pictures for security sake."
"whatttt?! oh okay o.o"

oh yeahhhhh and Charmaine NEARLY led me down the wrong flight of stairs to the shuttle bus stop! it was opposite direction summore!!

Friday was such a hectic day! Probably the one that had me freaking my brain the most.

It was only in the afternoon then did all the rushing in come in!

Firstly, it was that darn chemistry test! Bleh it was tough, and I doubt I can get an A for it! :( probably a C instead! T.T in jc1, it was more of me not wanting to study as compared to play. Now I so want to study as much as possible but I just dont have the time to! Ironic it may be but all thanks to exercise and break times for me to retain my sanity, and after striking a balance, insufficient time much! Wish I have more than 24 hours a day!

Then it was debates. I had to go for adjudicating seminar at ACJC 2 hours after school ended. 2 hours was good enough for me to rush back home, bathe nd change up (meeting friends in the night) and rush back to school! We were going to set off as a group from school to ACJC. End up I was stuck in a dilemma because I had to rush like mad and if I was slightly late, then I would have to cab down..so finally I chose to stay in school!

Then came another problem, inter-school debate competition for international humanitarian laws. Initially I said I wasnt keen in it but what happened was 1 person decided to back out so Glynis, the president of debates and Jonathan a senior asked me to go for it and after an hour of thinking, I said yes. (i myself cant believe I took an hour to decide! Fickle minded me!) and it was super rush because I had to borrow the blazer from school, which took an eternity cuz the admins suck and while the debates peeps were rushing off to ACJC -.- stressful much! as in im grappling for time! dont really like that feeling of being rushed :/

ANYWAYYYYY after the whole seminar thingy which consisted of us judging HCSS for their debate, which i forgot the motion, i had to rush down to Clarke Quay to meet Charlene and co! thought of taxi-ing down but phailed due to lack of taxis and peak hour! :( so i resorted to good old MRT. guess what! that was when i met Nicole! heeee both of us were going to meet charlene and so coincidentally we actually met!

soooo once i reached Riccoti, thats when i met charlene and friends!! :D actually im too lazy to continue blogging.. hehe so i shall just POST IT!. LAZY MUCH.

An accident in my brain

Sometimes, i question my sanity. Man! am i sane? or did a flowerpot hit my head when i was young?

coming up with random statements, doing out-of-the-world stuffs and living a life that seems so messy. life may be messy, but man am i happy :D uh whether the peeps around me are happy, thats another thing altogether. ha! xP or maybe i just cant grow up. zzz.

so much for wondering about myself. okay the reason why i have not been blogging for so long? studies, yes it is driving me up the darn wallllll. and sooner later its gonna drive me around the ceiling! :( i have beem whining over school work for the whole week but nothing has changed. so obviously it doesnt work, other than driving me to be more emo and depressed.

bah talk about having time to practice piano! close to zero. life is spent busily running around and worrying about when the next test is gonna be and how bad im gonna die from em.

anywayyyyy i am freaking overweight! T.T BMI overshot by 1.5 tsk tsk! time to run like mad! gotta improve fitness and prepare for NAPFA!

tml is a schooling day!

Tomorrow is a Thursday. Which means schooling day, which translates to piles of homework and lots of sleeping time in lectures. According to my GP teacher, a blog is outdated when it hasnt been updated for one day. So untrue! How do we find so much to blog about? Debates has just ended and I am bloggin on the bus, whining over my miserable life--well thats if I even have one to shant off with!

Homework piling up. Not that I dont do them but teachers are giving quite considerable amount! Having a break from this hectic life of mine will be greatly appreciated.

Despite being in the fàce of impending disaster (a levels) I think.i am still blinded by love. Like it seems as though I really want to get into a relationship! I know I know. Now is the worst time to do so as getting into one is often linked to fluncking a levels. Something not desirable. I hope tht what people say are true, that university is more relaxed.

I think there is 2.4km run tml! Demoralising much! Oops I dozed off halfway whileblogging. Thats how during life gets, esp after pe or gymtrininfdr. Okay starting to type gibberish while éğéè falling asleep on the bus. Argh I keep taking asleep! The problem is turbo stissééw that I keep faLLING sleep. Bye bye! Seé yà!

my.second day at school

Second day of school seemed to be so much more "back to school" as compared to the first day! Well glad to know we finally have a "home class" where we do not need to shift around the classrooms like what we did in jc1 oo now the school fees that we are paying is more worth it! Hmmm school overall was really enjoyable and fun! Exception for math lecture, which as usual got super boring. Vectors sucks! Coupled along with the very cold air con (as it was raining outside) and the surroundings so quiet, math lecture was indeed successful in putting me to sleep.

General paper started off on a different step altogether! We got Mr ariffin, who is also the guy who always sings opera songs during college events! Even though I am the pianist, I doubt he even remembers me :P he is really funny and what I love is him giving his fair share of comments on world events! Short and candid comments that are able to set off a different perspective :) he never fails to make the class burst out laughing and I am really hoping that my GP would be so much better this year! And that it would not be God's Punishment like what he says :)

school is starting and so are my whines over a levels!

Hah thats what I think my school life for 2011 is going to be like! Or at least what I hope It will be. Man I definitely love blogging on the go! Will be so much better when I learn how to post photos along with blogger while on the go. Once I reach home, seldom have the time to even blog. Plus I would rather destress by playing online games! (even though they kinda stress you up sometimes)

Man I think when school starts, everyone would be dragging their feet to school, learning mood just isnt there yet, and forget the homework. Ha I bet all those secondary school peeps have already went through this stage in school last week.. Well JCs start school on this coming Monday which is dreadfully tomorrow. Hpe Chinese new year comes fast mah!

By the time we are done with levels, our eye bags would be so saggy and dark till we would not even need to put make up for halloween. Our brains would feel so old till our lives would shorten by 5 years. Our faces look so wrinkled that any revitalising cream/concoction would prove to be useless.

Its just barely one week before Christmas and IM pretty much broke! After buying all the presents and going out xD looks like I need to start saving lots of money! Now I am still waiting for money to drop from the sky.. Still hoping! Hmm I really like the idea of blogging on the go. Really saves lots of time! In the car now on the way to boring wisma atria. Watched tron yesterday and it was really good! But there is nothing after the credits.. So I dont even know if they would ever have another episode :P

This weekend was candlelight service and I have been getting really busy and caught up with this life of mine. ( let alone all the homework that is outstanding..) kinda getting less and less productive as the days go by. Oops! X.x just a few more days before I fly off to Japan.. Wish it wasnt so soon! I think wisma atria has nothing to shop. Luckily I brought my new book! I bought the book "what the dog saw" by malcom gladwell! Hopefully I can get loads of good insights :) oh yeah IM supposed to be talking about candlelight service! This week is really interwsting! Or weird. I dont quite know how to describe it, but here is the story for this weekend! First it was Saturday..Sunday is the really cool one!

I was serving for sunday, so I went for Saturday! I invited jolyn, my classmate for Christmas service but she couldnt, so just candlelight. I joined her with her friends cell group. It felt like being a newcomer! So I made new friends on Saturday! Shook hands with the people sitting in front and behind of me! Service was really awesome with all the candles lighted up, the whole place was filled with tiny bright specks of holy flames! I took some photos, so here arr the photos! Hee took only a few photos. :P not convenient to take photos using my phone cuz I use a diff app :)

Well now comes the interesting part! sunday! As I am serving, the question that kept boggling my mind was whether orbit shall I serve!cuz if I do I wont be able to take photos with my cell group.. So as I was walking to expo hall 8 I was still so undivided! Then finally I chose to serve. Afterall that is more important than taking photos with my cell group.

So off I went to meet my usher ic and he turned out to be the same guy as the one whom I shook hands with on Saturday! Cool! Then I was doing terrace area and happen the terrace ic is some.super pretty woman! Okay thats not the point but she gave me the position to be in charge of terrace areas 4,5 and 6! Usually each usher takes one only but this time I got the chance to handle 3! Yeah! Managed to fill em up successfully, cuz I am doing area 5 and overlooking 4 and 6! That weekend was really successful, the people didnt give me any problems and it was really fun serving!

I wanted to be with my.cell group really badly though! And.so happen they were seating in the same area but its at the floor area, while I was doing terrace area! And that wonderfully kind usher ic who allowed me to go down and take photos with my cell group!

This is indeed the best weekend of year 2010!!

Bah the holidays have been getting really boring, not much of thrills and fun other than the daily gaming I have on soldierfont! Man the Christmas update is pretty interesting! Christmas is coming but I seem to be failing.at.inviting friends for Christmas service and have yet to buy the Christmas presents for my good friends! Hah been spending quite some bits thanks to outing wont friends but definitely thats well spent! Still gotta think of a design for Christmas gifts for the newcomers for the service! Plus I still have not written the cards! Tsk tsk there seems to be so much stuff to be done but I am still slacking my arse off doing nothing! Just practicing piano everyday and exercising!

Think it was yesterday? I went mosquito hunting! Have been being bitten non stop. So I got so sick of it, took out that electric bat and started skatinf! Managed to kill 4 aedes mosquito at my garden! Both good and bad news. Good cuz I killed a lot! Bad cuz someone is breeding mosquitos ! That kinda sucks. Need more spiders to hunt these stupid mosquitos down!

Mmm I feel like having a pet husky!

Still not quite used to blogging through my xperia! So feel like dropping by the Sony Ericsson shop tml! Check out the store, see what they have.

Mum is once again complaining and being biased against me. Oh well.

New Christmas lights!

Hmmm whats so interesting about my life for these days..rotting at home has been pretty effective in causing me to feel totally lazy and its such a disincentive to exercise! If I go to east coast park to run, then I gotta bring along my handphone..waterbottle (cuz I always stay there to do free body weights) ..then I still.gotta bring along my keys and some money! So its really such a big hassle just to go out to exercise! So now im just reduced to doing free body weights and running up and down the flights of stairs in my house, which..isnt as effective as working out :( despite knowing this, I am still too lazy to get out of the house of laziness!

Im blogging through my phone! Ooo today, mum bought a new phone cover for me! Well the xperia is definitely tough to find a phone cover for, well all I see is just iphone iphone iphone covers plastered all over the shops! Popped over to neighbourhood, marine parade and did find some covers! Which were like 12.. Pretty alright pricing for a cover but given the quality of the cover, it isnt really that worth it, because I need a transparent cover and yes it is, but its like yellowish! So that sucks. Its yellow because of overtime, the transparent cover turned yellow! Okay so thats a total no no. A few days back, I spotted a really nice cover at a new Sony Ericsson shop at parkway parade! That was so awesome! But it doesnt have a nice price..its like freaking 38 bucks?!! Plus I just got the gmask covering.for 29 bucks.. But good.news is.....MUM BOUGHT IT FOR ME TODAY!! :D super freaking awesome!

Oo lemme tell ya how I actually found the cover.. There is this new Sony Ericsson shop in parkway parade and there is this super pretty salesgirl at the new Sony Ericsson store! She is soooo pretty!! :D well for me she looks really beautiful! Then...i went in to ask if they had the cover! So thats pretty much how I discovered the phone cover. xD this goes to show that employing pretty women helps to increase sales! :D bah me and my rubbish.

Christmas is coming and mum bought for me a real Christmas tree! Well a mini plant that looks like it :P and she bought more lights!! Well I love lights and she bought Christmas themes lights! Uploading the photos now, took the photos of the lights with my phone camera, 8.1meg without cybershot function so lets see how the photos turn out! From the phone it doesnt look as good :P

As radio stations start to played on air the christmas songs such as Last Christmas sure does bring back such wonderf memories! However, sometimes I do feel a little down. Reason being the songs bring back such nostalgic memories but yet these memories are sometimes masked over by the uncertainty of the coming year's mysteries. It just feels kinda sad when like everything hits the "reset" button. Well even though in reality it isn't, but it just feel like it is! Well at least for me.

I am sure happy memories will prevail! Always good to keep high spirits!

Oh yeahhh it's about time i start writing Christmas cards ;)

the first time I ice skated!

Haha now my wrist hurts a little when I twist it! Thats because I went ice skating in the first time of my life and fell twice! Not to mention, I just learnt how to rollerblade like 2 weeks ago? So its pretty alien to me. As in skating! Ice skating is so much tougher than rollerblading, because it can actually go backwards (when I thought it cant), the brakes sometimes causes me to abruptly stop because they are placed in front. So you cant stick the skates from a certain angle. And it is A LOT MORE SLIPPERY AS COMPARED TO ROLLERBLADING!

This is the first time I am blotting through my xperia! Its my 7th day using this phone and its going really smoothly, still.finding more cool stuffs from the phone! Its a really good phone! Highly recommend it man. And yes I think its better than the iphone!

Okay back to the topic, yesterday I spent the day with Charlene, nicole, Kim, pokemon master ash, caven, donovan, Christopher, Deborah and ethan! For a start, we went to Kallang Leisure Park, nihon mura for lunch! It offers nice Japanese food! Not fantastic, but it's much better than those weird jap food stuffs.

I was expecting a queue for the ice skating ring and yeah there was one! But the wait was short because everyone was talking to one another! So pretty quickly, we were putting on those tight tight blades!

For a start, I found it really really slippery! Pretty tough to control at first, but once I skated a few rounds, then I got a really good hold of it! Then I fell a total of two times! The first was because of the brakes, then after I was used to it, I increased speed but didnt know how to stop! So I lost control during that moment of folly and fell!

I have no pictures because I didnt take any. Was too busy enjoying myself and Kimberly was going around trigger-happy! So all the photos are on Facebook. Will probably post the link and see if it works. As in the html fixings :) should work!

After 2 hours of fun trying to balance and skate, we went over to suntec city for frozen yogurt! Well seemed like I was the online who had it. We played monopoly deal in a bid to kill time as we waited for Joel and nicole, who never came. Ha we kinda got tired of waiting for them so we went off! Woa its so not easy to blog through my phone! Not used to it, not used to it!!

Today I had really ENJOYABLE time with vera at the movies, well we only met for 3 hours? Ha she had to rish off...anyway i really managed to catch up with her quite a lot, given that now its the holidays and everyone is more free. as in time is not so much of a constraint. however i had no idea why the train was so crowded! like literally we had to squeeeeeeeze like sardines! one thing i hate about public transport, is the squeeze. other than that, i really dont mind taking the public transport since its more eco-friendly and it isnt as boring as a car! (in a car, you talk to yourself and probably to the car in front who is blocking your way) well Vera and i went shoppin' she wanted macaroons, which we in the end did get some, and i was looking for nail polish! as in new colours for my nails. she is gonna bring back the nail polish, i have no further use of em :P i think.

we later catched the movie Easy A, of which i was a lil skeptical towards as it seemed like a rather "bimbo" show. however, since i have not watched it, i shall be open to new ideas! well thats partly what the book, Blink talks about. which is not having your stereotypes affect your judgments towards anything.

OOPS I FORGOT TO TAKE PHOTOS!! KOMENASAIII!!! (SORRYYYYYY) will take pics in future! if i remember..well maybe i was just enjoying myself eh?

oh yeah now you may be wondering why "Blink" suddenly comes into the picture? well thats because im passing the book to vera. thats why we met up :) haha after the movie, she had to rush off..so thats alllll!!

mum bought for me a new phone! No its not an iphone..well even though I like itouch a lot all thanks to its wifi function as well its apps capability :) but no i do not like an iphone cuz its wayyyy to conventional and its idiot proof. so i decided to go with something that is able to provide some fun! like, an android! my new phone is the XPERIA X10, not the mini one, not the one with the keyboard, just the large PDA looking Xperia! and yes im still figuring out the full functions of the phone to maximise its potential :) it also has the apps function, graphics wise i think it kinda owns the iphone. no biasness but it can do HD man.

pretty cool phone, i managed to link up facebook, email, messaging, calls, youtube, msn all in my phone! like ALL AT ONE GO!! i can also include twitter, but i dont have twitter :) i must say this phone sure is a blast! no surprise if the androids take the market my storm! its a really awesome phoneee! like c'mon everything shoved into one phone?!! with all the cool apps im playing with, the phone really is a wonder. seems that the battery is pretty hardy for a start! as in after one day of usage and exploring of apps using data, the phone is down to half battery.

overall, i rate the phone 8/10, cant give it 9 yet till i have fully explored the phone and all its functions!! the only letdown so far is the camera. its 8.1 meg, same as my cybershot c900 phone, but the quality is slightly worse as it does not have cybershot. however, i can take HD videos!

okay now i really got to go! (I WANNA PLAY COMPUTERRRRR)

haha i keep getting her name spelt wrong! instead of maezal, its supposed to be maezel. :) well today i went together with my cell group to surprise maezel as she was at the budget terminal to fly off to Philippines. she will be gone for a long time.. oh man! so gonna miss my fellow cell group member :) but at least she is going back to see her relatives!

today was kinda.....alright! got home and got down to work so as to earn my Xperia :P bah need a new phone pretty badly, kinda gave up on Satio as its too pricey and being heavy, once you drop it OUCH ttm! so no thanks! im opting for the android phone, xperia! sony ericsson better not put me down! D: im an avid SE fan :P and will never buy iphone, as i already have an itouch hence i dont see the need to. plus iphone is so...conventional. can you imagine everyone in the world using iphone?! thats freakin boring! its like wearing same clothes or something..

ANYWAY.. school is pretty alright..i think! (if killing 5 hours a day is considered alright to ya) well because my com is taken away, its like a disincentive to blog for me :( kinda sickening to blog through that minuscule itouch screen and its qwerty keyboard. as compared to my com screen and keyboard! :D it feels so much better typing through a computer~

Australia moves to recognize Aborigines in constitution

(CNN) -- Australia's government said Monday that it is moving to recognize Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in the nation's constitution.
"The Australian Constitution is the foundation document of our system of government, but it fails to recognize the special place of our first Australians," Prime Minister Julia Gillard's office said in a statement.

A panel will consider how to advance constitutional recognition and offer options for an amendment that Australians could vote on in a referendum, the office said. The panel -- which is to include indigenous and community leaders, constitutional experts and parliamentary members -- will lead a national discussion during 2011, the administration said.

Australia will push further for reforms and investments in early education, health, jobs, housing and services, and infrastructure, aiming to "close the gap in Indigenous disadvantage," the administration said.
In 2008, the Australian government apologized for years of "mistreatment" that inflicted "profound grief, suffering and loss" on the country's Aboriginal people.
Lawmakers unanimously passed a motion proposing the apology. Then-Prime Minister Kevin Rudd read the apology to Aborigines and the "stolen generations" of children who were taken from their families.

"We apologize for the laws and policies of successive parliaments and governments that have inflicted profound grief, suffering and loss on these, our fellow Australians. We apologize especially for the removal of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children from their families, their communities and their country.
"For the pain, suffering and hurt of these stolen generations, their descendants and for their families left behind, we say sorry," Rudd said. "To the mothers and father, the brothers and the sisters, for the breaking up of families and communities, we say sorry. And for the indignity and degradation thus inflicted on a proud people and a proud culture, we say sorry."

For 60 years, until 1970, the Australian government took mixed-race Aboriginal children from their families and put them in dormitories or industrial schools, claiming it was protecting them. As a result of the policy, "stolen" children lost contact with their families and heritage, received poor education, lived in harsh conditions and often endured abuse.

Rudd said the apology was the start of a new approach toward Aborigines, which included helping them find their lost families, and closing pay gaps and a 17-year difference in life expectancy between Aborigines and white Australians.
The child-removal policy was largely a secret until about a decade ago, when a government inquiry exposed it. That sparked a mass movement, supported by many white Australians, demanding an apology.

RESPONSE::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Definitely a thumbs up to this move by the constitution as it steps up to make improvements and "close the gap in indigenous advantage". Due to the child removal policy, aborigine kids have been put into home and separated from their families and now that the government is able to publicly apologise to the affected for their wrong move and begin to recognise the aborigines in constitution.

After they have apologised, the next move is making up for it, which is the recognising of them in constitution and possibly ways to close the large income gap and life expectancy. However i have no idea how they intend to close the income gap.
The "making up for it" portion is the part that will give me a more sound impression of the Australian government. What exactly are they going to do and just how long are they going to take? Just how important will it be towards the government?

The damage of the child remove policy goes beyond the 60 years that it has been implemented, and in my opinion, the damage is huge. Family trees are cut off, broken families occur as a result of such a policy. These are some of the many negative effects occured from this wrong move.

On the contrary, the government is made up of people, and people do make mistakes. Moreover there is no one policy that works in favour of everyone. If one side stands to gain, the other side loses. (Although i don't really see the "gain" in this policy since the children are subjected to abuse even though the government tries to protect them.)

It is heartening to see the government being able to make an attempt to treat the people fairly and in this sense the people consists of Australians as well as aborigines but will the government succeed in doing so, is another story altogether. On the whole, i feel that this is a good start towards the recognition of the aborigines in constitution.

Deb's 9teenth!

sheesh i have been so busy these days till i have no time to blog! well thats partly because mum took my com BIOS password. TSk! anyway last thursday ( i think ) i went to celebrate my good friend, Deborah's birthday! nono it was a friday night! oh yeah we had cell group first, then we went over to Dallas which is along Boat Quay :)

oops we = Deb, Nicole & Yao Peng, Chris, Max, Charlene, Joel, Kim and me! :D

went over to Dallas pretty early in the night, around 10+? straight after cell group. haha as usual, we were late! :P at least we were just 30mins late...? a big improvement as compared to last year when we were late for 2 hours xP

Charlene got there first, so when we reached, she was already enjoying her cocktail.. then just a short while later, all the food platter arrived! Mmm! fried chicken, squids, and some tortilla lookin food :P cant remember whats it called, well it looks like the KFC cheesy meltz for simplistic's sake.

oops Dallas is a bar ._. just a conventional one, not a sports bar. we did spend a bomb! :D well there goes my pocket x.x but still, it was a really fun time chatting, with deb being trigger happy and snapping lotsa photographs. the best part of it, was when we started kissing all the fruits! it was super funny during that part, i remembered i kissed a lemon :P and also later shared it with Yao Peng (making nicole jealous)

no pictures! thats because i didnt take any, was too busy enjoying myself :) we stayed all the way till it was past midnight, just to celebrate deb's birthday to the very end!

i think i have been spending A LOT of time on this! and... probably for this week i have already spend sayyyy 6-7hours on it? hmmm its a pretty sweaty process, lots of organisation, gotta keep thinking if i should keep or throw. and the question that runs through my mind most often when doing it?

"WHERE TO PUT THIS."

thats what happens when i tidy up my table! :D as well as all my papers... all the crappy rough working paper lying all around, chocolate boxes here and there.. plastic pieces lying around, or all kinda weird parts from various items being left everywhere! (well these parts come in really handy when im doing modelling :D)

hmmm i forgot to take a picture of what my desk was like, but what i can tell you, is that it was piled up with lotsa papers from different subjects together. total height: approx.15cm thats for the table, let alone the corner of the wall that i use had 1m long worth of papers all messed up together and under my table that stored all my bags and etc stuffs. All these in the name of studies! well to be exact, promotional exams.

when it comes to exams, my table's health takes a toll for the worse. so yeahhh wonder how the uploading of my photos are going :) oh oh only some photos are being uploaded to photobucket D: darn it! whats with it nowadays!

after hours of filing and punching holes i managed to get all the papers filed up real neatly! subject by subject, some into class work or graded assignments etc etc. woa i tell ya i had LOADS of rubbish! lemme show you a pic of em! :D and the amount of paper to be recycled stacked up to just about more than half a meter x.x

haha this is a card from Cheryl, well not much of a point in elaborating much cuz you guys wont really know her too :0 to simply put it, shes same age as me, but as i retained, she kinda left debate when i just joint it :) left it cuz of A levels, so i only gotta see her for not that many training sessions.

this is a card about..4 years ago? i think. it was my birthday and my cousins were overseas studying, so their family wrote a mini card and mailed it to me! :D surprising!

thats my first "storybook"! i remember i was just P2 and mum was looking for a childcare centre, so i brought this book wherever i went, whether was it in the car or in the childcare centre, i would take it out and write stories, short stories from my imagination :D those were the times when i was so free...

well this one is pretty recent, i think! well its a card that was given to me by my scout leader when we represented the troop to clinch champions in the district patrol competition, where a group of 6 scouts? compete with other schools to build a campsite and have their scouting knowledge tested. loved the times when i could have fun with my scout friends! :')

hahah today was a pretty weird day, in terms of weather. in the morning, it looked so bright and sunny! and i thought to myself "phew! today is gonna be a really nice day to swim!" and then, just when i was about to go for a nice swim after piano lesson, the sun was covered by the clouds :( so it was just dull. as in not dark, but like DULLLLL. which kinda sucked. and i had no idea why my goggles lense kept having fog appearing in it! as in it usually happens when the sun is really bright :/

weird weird!

anyway, i dont have any pictures to upload today! so be prepared for a blogpost only filled with words!

actually i think i am pretty speechless today! yeahhh cuz there isnt much stuffs to post about, just that i managed to swim for about 2km today without stopping! :D the last 2 laps was really tiring man! then finally when i wanted to go for more laps, i was drained! x.x oops. so yeah. gotta really train and improve more for the sake of NS! T.T one year to go before i book into that darn island called Pulau Tekong! if only they had NS at Sentosa. maybe i should do a blogpost about it! :D

BRITISH author Alan Shadrake, 75, was found guilty of impugning the impartiality, integrity and independence of Singapore courts in his book.

High Court Judge Quentin Loh found the author of A Jolly Hangman: Singapore Justice In The Dock had scandalised the judiciary in 11 of the 14 passages that the Attorney-General had listed as contemptuous.

In the three passages, Shadrake could be said to be making allegations against institutions other than the courts. He will be sentenced next Tuesday.

During the three-day hearing last month, Deputy Senior State Counsel Hema Subramanian argued that the 14 statements alleged or insinuated that the Singapore courts bowed to pressure from foreign governments, favoured the rich and privileged and were used as a tool by the ruling party to muzzle political dissent.

Shadrake, through his lawyer, Mr M. Ravi, maintained that the selected passages did not scandalise the courts and constituted fair criticism on matters of public interest. But Justice Loh said that Shadrake had included half-truths and falsehoods in his book and this cannot constitute fair criticism.

The judge noted that 6,000 copies of the book have been sold so far, and if left unchecked, it would result in readers losing confidence in the administration of justice in Singapore.

The author declined to comment on the judge's decision but told reporters after the verdict: 'I think I have been given a fair hearing.'

Separately, Shadrake is being investigated by the police for criminal defamation, an offence which carries a maximum two-year jail term and a fine. His passport is being held by the police.

REPLY:

Frankly speaking, i myself have not read the book just yet, neither have i been able to get a hold of the book. so i cant possibly comment on whether the 14 statements made are considered as a fair criticism.

My stand on this, is that Shadrake should be allowed to continue his publications of his book as it gives rise to a variety of different perceptions from an individual. Therefore my view is that he should not be charged in anyway, unless he directly defames the Singapore courts. To provide criticisms is one thing. Whether the public would buy into his idea, is another. Given the 10 years of compulsory education that every Singaporean has to go through, i believe that they are mature enough to take every statement with a pinch of salt. This also means that the individual has the capability to differentiate between right and wrong, credible and flawed.

Hence, in my opinion, it is the responsibility of the reader to decide if the source that he is reading is considered to be a credible source or not. Given Singapore's literacy rate for those above the age of 15 to be 96.3 in 2009, coupled with 10 years of compulsory education, i believe that the individuals in Singapore should be the ones responsible, instead of having the courts to be over protective over such issues.

The General Paper subject as offered as a compulsory subject in junior colleges around Singapore also gives the students essays or critiques that are slightly biased and seem rather flawed in its arguments. If Shadrake's statements are considered to be flawed in nature and not defamatory towards the Singapore courts then i feel that he should not be punished. However if he did defame the courts, then yes, go ahead and punish him justly. If its just because that his statements on the Singapore courts are untrue and he ends up being punished, then what about the rest of the untrue articles on the S'pore courts that are published around the world? Should every article we taken to court too?

haha the title says it all, today, i had to wear formal to school! well thats because the Kairos students who are also the retainees got to go through some programme that is able to better our skills, in this case for interview skills. tomorrow, we are having lessons on exam skills! as the J1s are slogging their brains and body to work for oral presentation for project work, we get to bask in the air conditioned MPR5 and listen to people talk!

well the programme started since yesterday, and its been pretty helpful, they threw in some social etiquette stuffs too :) which definitely does come in pretty handy sometimes!

hmmm the programme also helps us to be more positive.. (i think) and well its pretty informal session, having us sit around in a circle, luckily on chairs if not my legs are sure gonna go bust!

today was more on interview training, like what are we supposed to do, posture, what not to do, what we learnt, uh after that i dont really remember. haha kinda felt like i was switching off! not that the lessons were boring, but just probably tired? i dont know! :)

well as i was typing this blogpost, i found this super cool watch that has not yet been manufactured, but its extremely cool! i seriously dont mind wearing such a watch! haha oops finally updating blog after such a long time :P well today, there is no school so yeah staying at home and slackkkkk! good luck to all those peeps taking their exams!

yupp anyway i just completed the GN0000 plastic model, dad actually gave it to me right after my exams. i think it was last week..i posted about the oo raiser? now is the main gundam model itself :)

all the parts were painted white in the inside, except for the black parts! just that this time, i have no idea why i made 2 mistakes while fixing it. either missed out one part or broke the connecting pieces -.-

ha if you notice, the black is a little transparent from here, even though in actual its really quite transparent!

i have no idea why i took this photo o.o

i decided to paint one of the swords/gun, while the other to be left transparent, so as to show the difference in colours.

hmmm it did turn out like what i expected, so yeah! im okay with it :) just some cleaning up to do! thats about it, all the exta white paint sticking out. time to once again whip out the thinner!

oops the photo is slanted :x anywayyyy thats the finished product! :D hmmm its pretty nicely done up, gaps are closed up, but the excess paint have not been wiped off yet, will do that soon! :)

haha im really happy its finally done~ probably try another model on Macross Frontier. most likely the VF-25 models :) but until then, see ya! im really lazy to blog about models, cuz its uaully pictures! will be updating most likely tml! if i dont feel that lazy haha

Fixing a new plastic model! :)

currently, im busy doing plastic modelling once again! i havent touched on painting and customising my nerf gun yet, not to mention my calculator needs a new paint job! (it kinda looks worn out) so yeah. onto my new plastic model, the Gundam 00-00 transparent! this time, i decided to give it a paint job, in a different way~!

what did i use? this.

the paint and stuffs are from hobby art :) and ALL the parts, except for the black ones are painted WHITE. dont use colours like blue or whatsoever for the other coloured parts! it will turn out horrible! white allows the contrast of the colour to be there, just what we want. :) if you use blue paint against blue, you cant really see the details anymore.

a month plus back, i saw this model in the Gundam exhibition that has like an extra layer of plastic over it, allowing it to show some mechanical detail! i was wondering what the modeller did man. at first, i thought it was by plastic surgery -.- as in making new plastic parts, but i happened to figure it out that i was painted in the inside instead! so i decided to give it a go~ first time painting it in the inside o.o

i used gaia paint, and i painted the insides of the plastic pieces before they are cut out from the plates. like this, it wont really pose much of a problem if i am painting the individual parts, only to find one missing! and such a model, they cant possibly provide extra parts..

total i did the painting 3 times, as in 3 layers. so its just paint and dry, paint and dry.. some of the parts required 4 layers x.x kinda troublesome, but oh well, at least it allows the model to look good!

this is how its like when its done, it looks exactly the same as an ordinary plate of white plastic parts. yup yup!

oops this is how my first coat of paint on the insides look like, its still translucent! so you gotta keep painting it till its totally opaque. thats the best. use thick paint.. try not to over dilute it, usual stuffs, about 1:1 for the mixture of paint and thinner.

this is how it looks like when its all done up! from the front, which is the same view as when looking at the model after it has been all painted up :) and fixed of course.

and...viola~! thats how it looks like :) thats just the o raiser part, im kinda lazy to do the gundam itself! did it till the chest only :P haha! so feel like starting on the calculator paint job. (gonna be real tough!)

oh yes, and once i paint the insides, its really tough to fit the parts together! you kinda find them really really tough shoving the pieces together. my way of solving it? use the ball of your feet to click it together! forget the hand. you will kinda be drained out once you finish the whole gundam.

yeah! finally, i have some time to blog :) say 15mins? so i shall make it short and sweet! (hopefully sweet, which i doubt :P)

school these days has been filled with fun, laughter and loss. ha! feeling pretty lost because its like after the exams are over, we are no longer studying that intensively like how we have been doing for the weeks before our promotional exams, trying to cramp as much knowledge into our brains as possible. now, everything more or less cooled down already, school is also coming to an end and so will be ourselves too as we receive our results. well some will due to disappointment. not about retaining, just about personal expectations. last year, i was really happy i retained!

last year my results were as such:
3 S grade for my 3 H1 subjects
3 U grade for my 3 H2 subjects.

pretty much dead eh? on the brighter side, i was able to be retained (instead of being kicked out of school)

this year, obviously my results were better, but in my opinion, promo results were pretty tragic and i cant see eye to eye how the darn GP examiner marked my essay!
i gave a stand, (he/she) said i didnt.
i gave defintions, (he/she) said i didnt.
i gave a debate style argumentation for the introduction which was allowed during mid years, (he/she) claimed it was narrative.

like seriously!! even my GP tutor felt it wasnt marked fairly. as the examiner has the last say, we cant possibly do anything to salvage it. so just gotta look ahead. life is never fair eh?

yeahhhh so GP is the subject that i am least satisfied with, as in the marks. TSK!

uhh other than that, yeah the Haze in singapore is back. felt that it affected my performance today as i ran around the track, felt out of breath slightly faster.

Halloween party is coming up real soon! (its actually tomorrow) yeah! gonna go for it :) will do a blog post on it probably on sat night since i will be going for a hike on saturday morning :)

haha i havent been blogging for quite some time, reason being im busy doing plastic modelling and settling my nerf guns! so yeah. lemme tell ya about my JC life, during the cooldown period after our promotional exams. still in the midst of it still! :)

yesterday, i opted for rope art course and it was so fun! well at first it may seem really dry because we were learning how to tie knots, which i already knew since i was a scout. quickly going into the lesson, time passed really quickly. even the skeptical guys sitting near to me who joined the course also found it so fun at the end of the lesson! :) thats what school should be man. learning while having fun! thats the best! hahahah yes i am enjoying myself in school, whether is it the exam period or not, it doesnt matter :)

this is my sculpture! uh by the way, its supposed to be a horse.. many people in the class did horses and giraffes, but the teacher claimed they looked like lamas T.T those mountain-goat-like animal that can be seen being used by trades on the Silk Road. then teacher was like "father lama, mother lama, sister lama.." dam funny!! :D

well im still on the project of my plastic model, *hint: its a exia gundam 00. :)

haha my com is finally working once again! well im really catching up with friends and everything else that is not studies related since i have been spending lotsa time with my studies. zzz!

well com broke down and gave me a freaking blue screen because it was unable to boot up, so yeah had to pack up my table too.. so thats why i had to keep delaying the blog post!

exams are finally over, like FINALLY. hopefully i will do well :) even though i have no idea if i will, but still hoping.

stomach seems to be rejecting EVERYTHING i eat. so thats really putting me off for now, and apparently i dont feel like blogging today, or now. hahaaaaa so i guess i will update it probably on monday!

and i have no idea why next tuesday is (Kairos self study at home) day. exams are over already lehhh study what?! next year topics?!

Oh no not chicken!

Oo I nearly forgot! Yesterday, I went out with my cell group and subzone for games! Well the most memorable one was the most disgusting one: captain's ball. At first it was with just a volleyball, but later on it carried on to a raw chicken ._.

For a start, the chicken flew to be and *SPLATTT onto the floor. Then I stared at the chicken wondering how to pick it up. By the body or by the legs?! Then by the time I chose legs someone else ran up and grabbed it like a ball -.- seriously at first it looks perfectly fine! Until the chicken takes flight and experiences a crash landing. Then it gets worse and worse. By the time a few goals is scored, the chicken looked like chicken chop. Maybe that's how they make chicken chop? :P

In the night, I decided to watch the F1 night race! It was good.. Well my KS Bull GP book was beside me on the sofa enjoying the cars zoom by 61 laps around the Singapore night race circuit which looked like a mega jail with all those road blockades. But oh well safety comes first as always.

Didnt expect Hamilton to crash out though. Damn! Mark webber sure was aggressive on the track. His car had contact with hamilton as well as the force India car I think. In the end the Lotus Racing car caught fire while starting the last lap making the total number of cars to be out at 6. Wonder why lotus wanted to continue to try and finish the last lap when the engine caught fire halfway on the 60th lap.

One thing is for sure, I do look like a panda now! I haven't been ably to blog for quite some time, reason being I'm really caught up with life now..actually I think im just caught up with studies.

I just finished my GP exam, it's general paper by the way. Just a more antagonizing version of English Language, but ironically I prefer writing GP essays than english compos. Reason being its more of trying to convince the examiner, rather than just stating what you know.

Ha when I first saw the questions, I was like crossing out all the questions except for the environment. O.o took the advice on not doing general questions so that left me with less choice, since general questions can be dangerous. Crime was out because I never like it and will not touch it, family questions were weirddd so yeah! Just kept to environment.

Couldn't stop sneezing in the hall! Was sitting close to directly under the air con an I could feel all the cold breezes coming out. Next time, im so gonna bring a jacket!

Today is my birthday! To be more precise it's my spiritual birthday! As some may know, Im a christian and getting water baptized in the holy spirit signifies the declaration of the lord being the savior. :D I didnt blog this weekend as I am really busy with lotsa stuffs which includes school work and a little tinch of church stuff :) this weekend is coming to an end in an hours time and one thing is for sure is that it's been a tiring one for me, but also a fulfilling one and a weekend I will never forget. So now officially, 19 September 2010 is the day that I was born again in the name of Christ!! :D

The highlight of this weekend, is today :) man did I have so much fun! Firstly the service of which Pastor Kong revealed that so far ongoing examinations conducted on the church management board is going fine, we are still clean so far :) and secondly was my baptism! I had to bring an extra set of clothes, which was full white in colour! It's been so long since I have dressed up in full white. Well Jocelyn who is my cell group mate was also supposed to get baptized, however she forgot to sign her name on the paper!! So haha next time yeah? As I got water baptized, both my family and cell group was there to support me! Man the train ride was literally the entire green line which is 20 stops. That's very long!! But as my cell group was there and we chatted with one another, time really did fly. :) It just felt so good knowing that there are people in the world, including my Father Almighty up there who cares for me, in the sense I am able to seek comfort and refuge in them :)

Not to forget, my family was there too and mum was trigger happy, snapping pictures non stop! Bro and dad was more of huh?? Sort of feeling but oh well. Bro is just tired out too :) the process was really fast, it started off with all the 163 baptism candidates singing praise and worship songs, before we declared out faith in unison with the coordinating pastor.

After that, was the dip. Well my church, City Harvest Church believes in the total submersion of the body during baptism, so yup! That's what I got! It was reverend yong who took us, and he whispered to me asking for how to pronounce my name, and then he held my head, I closed my eyes and was gently submerged for a few seconds into the water. Oh yeah!! It was done at the rooftop pool at our church building :)

as I went in, my cell group members were screaming their heads off!! Well it happened underwater, so all I heard was *mumphf gulpa gulpa gulp and when I came back up, it felt like I was back on Earth. All the cheering and screaming became so clear! Man I felt so good! It was like Dolby Surround sound, apparently other than my cell group cheering, there were others cheering me too O.o maybe they knew me too :)

Haha afte I got dipped, I just walked one round to the right and my cell group was there waiting and they were like "how did you know we were here?" (apparently they changed where they were situated at when I got baptized. The weird thing is I knew where they were!! Haha! By the grace of God I guess :) by the grace of God :) :)

Well I later on had celebration with my cell group, where they gave me an apple coated with salt! So much for being the salt and light of the world. :P since there was already light, they gave me salt and an apple so that I can be the apple of God's eye :D apparently I was given 3minutes to finish it!! Kinda finished slightly more than half only x.x haha maybe I should not have eaten lunch hehe!!

Nicole made for me a very nice card, and the cell group wrote in it and also gave me a towel with their well wishes inked on it, as well as a photo frame that came with a meaningful phrase in Chinese! :) haha I am blogging though my itouch now, so yeah will upload photos when I have the chance to! Afterall a picture tells a thousand words.

This wonderful spiritual birthday that I had today, is pricelss
and no particular word can possibly describe the feeling :)

ops i forgot about the salty part of my baptism :P i had to eat this apple that was coated with salt! luckily it was not entirely coated with salt hehe!

School is back! Ha like finally. Holidays have definitely caused me to put on weight I guess. Well that's at least what I feel it's like. X.x haha at least when there is school, there is discipline for me to study. Exams coming up in 2 weeks time, so really all the best to all the junior college students who have inevitably lost their lives to studies, good luck and mug hard!! :D

Today was the first day of night study programme that I attended since school started yesterday. Whoa sat on the canteen bench till my butt felt embedded into the bench can?! It was so hard!! Not to mention I sat there for hours. Well probably one way to tell if the person mugs hard is whether his butt is really flat :P haha! Dam lame. But oh well school has been really fun as usual :) so yes I do enjoy school! :) can't wait for all my Exams to come to past. Well actually j don't want them to come so early!! Exams please come when I am prepared to face you.. I really can't perform under stress conditions. X.x

wow today was super sunny! thats in the morning :) since i live in the east, the sun rises from here and early in the morning its so bright and sunny! love it man! :D

i had the usual piano lesson in the morning, so after that i went for a nice dip! :) well i always swim every week at my piano teacher's condo and i tell ya the pool there is aweesomeeee!

today was really sunny and the water was sparkling clean! maybe they just cleaned it like the day before or something. usually they clean it once a week o.o

once i got into the pool man it was like swimming at the great barrier reef! well thats because it has the similar blue and the water is so clear it feels as though you are not swimming in water :D like seriously! when i saw my hands underwater, its as though there is no water between my eyes (or goggles) and hands :D fantastic man!

its like the water has reflections at the bottom of the pool and i can see clearly my shadow on the floor while swimming! :D :D

thats actually the waterfall at the end of the swimming pool :) its not that clear from here.. well i took the pics after i swam, so its more shaded as compared when i was swimming where every part of the pool had sunshine :)

hahahhaa its been a century since i have blogged. reason being i have no chance to use the computer! plus i have been really busy with my life :)

ha life's goodd..... well so so i would say. its been getting hectic with all the change in schedules and stuffs. rushing to get all the work completed..still have a darn full paper of GP to complete :/

WOHOO! like FINALLY the computer decided to go hand in hand with my handphone and allow me to upload the photos which have been long expired T.T at least they are finally here! the computer is definitely so much better than using my itouch to surf the web like seriously it takes forever. how i wish i can take pictures and blog on the go. that will be so cool!

some of you might have heard of the optical fibre installation going around, my house was one of the lucky ones to get selected for it! so yeah we called em up to do all the infrastructure for the optical fibres. instead of using copper wires, optical fibres is actually a glass wire, i had a feel at it and its bendable! but it does break when you bend it too much. works like a plastic ruler actually :)

here are the photos of the people helping us to install it! well apparently with it, the capacity of data sending is multiplied 100x to 1Gb a sec. seriously i doubt it can actually reach 1gb/sec. thats downloading literally 2 "normal" size PSP games in a second? all those with physics secondary school textbook, there is a picture of it :)

we had to clear the storeroom first..quite a chore :P hehe! its messy whattt

Well today I'm staying back in school for night study as well as teachers day rehearsal :) I will be performing as a pianist, just one song, river flows in you by Yiruma. I wonder why they chose the song O.o after all it's a sad piece and teachers day is the contrary. Hah hope I can play it smoothly! Need to once again inject that feeling into the song x.x plus once I play one wrong note it's gonna be so obvious xP

Ha now I'm at the hall waiting to start the practice. Urgh still need to do math.. Ugh ugh ugh! Hate math! :P it's not as though you are gonna differentiate the bus numbers on the road righttt!! Haha nah I just have a grudge against math.

ha this week has been pretty good, but weird O.o

let me try and recal...oh yeah this week was healthy lifestyle week! so we had people coming in selling dried foods, healthy food, sports stuffs, frozen yogurt :D ( i have no idea how yogurt is linked to healthy but who cares its dam nice! )

actually i have a photo of the frozen yogurt but my computer and phone doesnt seem to get along today.. nevertheless i can describe it to ya!
well on friday, i finally decided to give it a try during my ridiculously long 2 hour break.
its actually frozen vanilla yogurt, then we get to choose 3 different flavours consisting of a range of fruits, oreo and cookies. then what happens is it gets mashed up in this machine, giving you the flavoured yogurt! and its niceee. well my friend bought one that had black and red berries, so my ice cream after that came out pink in colour too O.o shuks..if only i had the darn photo :( okay imagine it then! its the same as ice cream, pink in colour.

ha well this week...i also decided to perform for teacher's day! well just a mini one this time, one song. River flows in you :) hopefully i can play the song with all the notes correctly! well for that song its extremely obvious if you make a mistake -.-

ha promos is in 30 days, and i am on the road of preparation. after that is gonna be Interhouse Games and i will be leading the floorball team! yeah! Alan, my classmate told me if i just sit at the goalpost, the other team surely cannot score :P aiya but afterall im better at defending.

SHUKS IT SUCKS WHEN THERE IS NO DEBATE. the week seems as though something is left out. and this feeling is gonna last till after promos since CCA stops for now :(

i wanna go out with friends! well thank God i still have the sundays to go out T.T thats like last option luh. no other choices left! okay this is getting dam boring without pictures :( ugh! after changing phone, the computer just doesnt want to read the darn memory card!
